The Falcons have made their first roster move after the initial cutdowns. The final preseason game made it pretty clear that the best choice for the swing tackle role was The Player To Be Named Later. Now we have him. It's Isaiah Prince. He was drafted in 2019 by the Dolphins, played in four games as a rookie (2 starts) but wound up with the Bengals. He sat out the 2020 COVID season, appeared in 15 games for the Bengals (4 starts) in 2021, and spent the first part of 2022 on IR. The Bengals put him on their practice squad to finish the 2022 season but lost him to the Broncos at the end of the season, though he didn't appear in any games for Denver. He was in training camp and preseason with Denver again this year but was waived in the roster cutdowns. So... 19 games of experience, 6 starts, and four training camps with three different organizations. The Falcons coaching staff hasn't seen him first hand, but he's already the strongest candidate on the roster for the swing tackle role, and it's not even close. They'll work to ramp him up as quickly as possible. The other backup linemen on the roster are Kyle Hinton, Ryan Neuzil, and Jovaughn Gwyn. All three worked in the interior in camp and preseason, so Prince is the clear choice for the swing tackle role in Week 1. Best guess is that Neuzil is the active interior backup, with Hinton and Gwyn likely inactive. If something happened to one of the tackles, either Prince would fill in with Hinton taking on the swing tackle role, or Matthew Bergeron would kick out from left guard to tackle, one of the three interior guys would take over at left guard, and Prince would remain in the swing tackle role.
