The Ravens host the Minnesota Vikings this sunday. Baltimore has had to sit on that week 7 beating by Cincinatti for two weeks, because that's what happens when you lose going into your bye week. John Harbaugh teams have a history of playing flat the week before the bye, but they also have a history of great play coming off of one. Thanks to a Cincy loss to the Jets last week, Baltimore has regained the division lead by half a game. They'll have to focus and play well in order to hold on to that title as the AFC North teams are all within 1 win of each other. Baltimore's next 3 games are very winnable games, and if they can win all three I think they will have a firm lead on the division. The first step is getting a win vs Minnesota. Baltimore didn't make any trades before the deadline, but reinforcements are coming. The Ravens could get back Sammy Watkins, Derek Wolfe, Chris Westry, and Latavius Murray. All of them may not play Sunday, but any and all of these additions will positive additions to the team. The road to another division title, and hopefully q superbowl run, picks back up on Sunday. Time to stack more wins. LET'S GO, RAVENS!!!
Also, Nick Boyle would be a huge boost to the O LIne and blocking schedmes and allow Andrews to be more of a weapon when we run 2 TE sets.....Not to mention taking the heat off of Lamar a bit. Does anyone have any thoughts on the O Line help that was added off the street? I get they were on the street but do we anticipate any of them being of value?
The Ravens have played without wide receiver Sammy Watkins in their last two games, but he’s taking steps back toward the lineup this week. According to multiple reports, Watkins returned to practice on Thursday. It’s his first on-field work since injuring his thigh in a Week Five win over the Colts. The Ravens activated rookie Rashod Bateman from injured reserve after Watkins’ injury, which means they could get Watkins, Bateman, and Marquise Brown in the lineup at receiver in the same game for the first time. Left tackle Alejandro Villanueva, cornerback Jimmy Smith, quarterback Tyler Huntley (illness), running back Latavius Murray (ankle), right tackle Patrick Mekari (ankle), and defensive tackle Brandon Williams (shoulder) were out of practice. All but Villanueva and Smith were also out on Wednesday, so the veterans may just be getting a rest ahead of facing the Vikings. PFT __________ ____________________ Good luck! Im not looking forward to this game, lol.
This should be an easy win for the Ravens cause the Vikings are a big time mess really they are MESS!
The Vikings have played extremely well today, but the Ravens just tied it up at 24 after Devin Duvernay's best catch of his career in the back of the end zone. What a game
It was a sweet catch but it's a typical Vikings Meltdown they just break your heart over and over again
What a crazy game. The Ravens manage to somehow find a way to win. This is the 3rd game this season Baltimlre has been down by double digits only to win the game. That criticism of Lamar can officially end. Now for one I may create. Can Lamar and the offense NOT start slow. Sheeh. That said, Vikings have been in most of their games. They have a good team, they just need to close out games. Baltimore is now tied for best record in the AFC with the Titans, who haven't played yet but lost Henry for the regular season at least
A few morning after thoughts. - I hope people stop saying Lamar has no WRs. Hollywood Brown has stepped up tremendously this season, even with the drops. - Rashod Bateman is going to be a problem. He and Brown are looking like they could be the best Ravens WR tandem this millennium. A faster version of Boldin and Torrey - The offense and defense both looked terrible early on but settled down to both play great second half football. This team needs to learn to start strong. - Baltimore is 2nd in the AFC right now. I've said it before but considering how they left preseason, this is surprising. Imagine if they had all their key players that were lost early on. - I don't know where the Vikings run defense is ranked, or if they were just gassed after a few long drives mid game, but Freeman looked good out there. Bell looked like a spell back. I hope these RBs can continue to improve, for Lamar's sake. - Speaking of Lamar, he's still superman.....turnovers and all - In terms of key players, on a negative side, what happened to the reinforcements? No Boyle, Watkins, Wolfe (he may go back on IR), or Westry. Maybe thry didn't want to overload them in a short week. Hope some are healthy enough for Miami.
