I like the move to Mullens over Dobbs, but Id have gone with Hall. Mullens is not a mobile QB at all. Good news, JJ is playing... just hope they can move the football on the ground enough to keep the Bengals defense honest and guessing. Another A1 game by the Defense is needed once again. I have to admit and say, Flores has done a very good job. Vikings defense is top notch in Points Allowed only behind Dallas and San Fransico in the NFC and that defense is the least penalized unit in the NFL (by far). Vikings are a surprising 5-2 on the road vs just 2-4 at home... I would have thought the opposite.
Josh Dobbs has been demoted all the way to third string. Dobbs, who started the last four games at quarterback for the Vikings but was benched for Nick Mullens last week, will be Minnesota’s emergency third quarterback for Saturday’s game against Cincinnati, head coach Kevin O’Connell announced today. Rookie Jaren Hall, who initially assumed the starting job after Kirk Cousins’ injury but was injured and replaced by Dobbs in the first quarter of his first start, is now the Vikings’ No. 2 quarterback behind Mullens. Dobbs played surprisingly well after arriving in a trade with the Cardinals and is a big part of the reason the Vikings remain in playoff contention after losing Cousins. But he has struggled in each of the Vikings’ last two games, and O’Connell has decided a depth chart shakeup is needed. The Vikings are three-point underdogs against the Bengals in a game between two teams that are 7-6 despite playing backup quarterbacks.
Justin Jefferson had a full practice today, still listed as questionable. The Vikings ruled out running back Alexander Mattison (ankle), receiver Jalen Nailor (concussion) and offensive tackle Brian O’Neill (ankle). None of them practiced this week.
Bengals will be healthy. Bengals receiver Ja’Marr Chase told reporters he was “100 percent” playing against the Vikings, despite dealing with an ankle injury this week. Now that’s been reflected in Cincinnati’s game statuses. Chase is officially off the report and is expected to play on Saturday afternoon. Chase was listed as a non-participant on Tuesday and limited on Wednesday. But he was full for Thursday’s session. Quarterback Jake Browning (right forearm) also has no game status after he was listed with the injury this week. However, it didn’t limit him in practice as he was listed as full on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Receiver Tyler Boyd (foot/ankle) and cornerback DJ Turner (ankle) were also upgraded to full participants on Thursday. Boyd, Turner, cornerback Chidobe Awuzie (shoulder), and tight end Mitchell Wilcox (knee) are all expected to play. Only linebacker Joe Bachie (oblique) is questionable. He was limited on Thursday after not participating on Tuesday and Wednesday. PFT
The Vikings elevated running back Myles Gaskin and receiver Trishton Jackson from the practice squad for Saturday’s game against the Bengals. Gaskin, who mostly recently signed with the Vikings’ practice squad on Nov. 13, has played two games this season. He played two special teams for the Vikings against the Eagles on Sept. 14 and six special teams snaps for the Rams against the Cowboys on Oct. 29. The Vikings are down a running back with starter Alexander Mattison out with an ankle injury. In his career, Gaskin has played 40 games with 17 starts. He has 462 touches for 2,056 yards and 13 touchdowns. Jackson has played six games with the Vikings this season and has totaled two catches for 9 yards. He has played 80 offensive snaps and nine on special teams. Jackson has spent time on the active roster and the practice squad this season. The Vikings have ruled out receiver Jalen Nailor (concussion). Justin Jefferson (chest) is questionable but expected to play.
When is KOC gonna give DeWayne McBride a chance and your right the Vikings got to find a run game for Nick Mullens but it's time to turn the page KOC,what do you have to lose by not going with Jaren Hall hope Mullens really uses Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison with all this firepower enough of this half-stepping time to put the pedal to the metal!
Oh well what else is do you expect just luv ❤️ the hate it makes my day KOC will you go for it that's my question
That might be the best catch by Hockenson he's ever made... pass was a bullet behind him and he snagged it.
