I knew he wasn’t coming back, I think he has mentally checked out of football but would’ve been nice if he made that F’n call before the draft!!!

with that said do you think they have the players on roster to replace him or do you think we need to pick someone up?

I wouldn’t mind Suh, help the run defense immediately!

We have the money for Suh. Tuitt added about five million into our cap after his dead money is removed.

The only thing with Suh is that he has a temper and not sure if Tomlin would want to deal with a hot head.

Seems like he could have told you guys much sooner

Maybe he did and management asked him to wait until June 1st. Why would he announce it on that day unless there was a plan.

The Steelers are sitting on a lot of cap space right now. I’m thinking we need to wait and see who gets cut post training camp. We can afford a really good player right now maybe even two. If we wait someone who could help put us over the top will come available.

Steelers have 21M in space now.

I'm sure they knew. The June 1 announcement means they can push another 4.5M into 2022. The Leal pick probably doesn't happen if Tuitt intends to come back. They only keep 6 d-linemen and they really like Loudermilk.

not to nitpick but I think you mean 2023.

but yes, I think they knew ahead of time and the announcement was all about the cap.

Larry Ogunjobi is in Pittsburgh looking for a contract. This could be a very good signing.

Veteran defensive lineman Larry Ogunjobi is a Steeler.

After visiting Pittsburgh today, Ogunjobi has signed a one-year contract with the Steelers, the team announced.

This is the second time Ogunjobi has agreed to a free agent contract this offseason: He and the Bears agreed to a deal early in free agency, but he failed his physical with a foot injury stemming from last season, and never signed with the Bears. The Steelers are apparently satisfied that Ogunjob’s foot is good to go.

Ogunjobi started 16 games for the Bengals last year, but the foot injury in the wild card round knocked him out for the rest of the postseason.

The Steelers lost Stephon Tuitt to retirement, and Ogunjobi could take Tuitt’s place on their defensive line.
