We should have one so I'll kick it off with a little question and answer session between Jim Wexell and Patrick Queen. I was reluctant to place 100% of the blame on Canada the last few years because of how bad his QB was but this Q&A was pretty eye-opening...

    * The other starting inside linebacker, newcomer Patrick Queen, prepared to face the Steelers two times per year through his four years with the Ravens. Now a member of the Steelers, he's preparing to face their new offense under new coordinator Arthur Smith.

How do the past and present Steelers offenses compare?

"It's different," said Queen. "There are a lot more plays. Everybody gets the ball. There are no more tells of certain people getting the ball in certain spots."

    Tells?

"With Pat (Freiermuth) lining up at certain spots, 3 by 1, he wasn't really running anything other than maybe a sit-down route, a 7-yard route, over route. So we knew that. We knew the motions, the snap counts, so it was the small stuff. Now that stuff is revamped."

That small stuff can be big stuff, can't it?

    "Yeah, it can. It is."

    And now it's more complex?

"Yeah. It's definitely more complex," Queen said. "All kinds of snap counts. There's a whole variety. They've got every single formation you could think of, every single motion you could think of, fast, quick, slow, slow-then-fast. There's a whole bunch of different stuff going on."

    Does that excite you?

    "It definitely does."

Russle Wilson has a calf injury. Roman Wilson suffered an ankle injury and was carted off the field yesterday. Nothing that sounds season ending.

It's a good deal, however I am on fixed income now. That's a good thing and every day is Sunday.
Leal is going to make plays, finally the light came on. Not much buzz on Loudermilk or our fan favorite Logan Lee.
Beanie Bishop is going to be the Jalen Warren of this draft, UDFA you can't get off the field.
The injury to Wilson causes me to have concerns about WR depth, my latest mock on X, I have them double dipping.

Good news on Logan Lee, he is putting in work at Long Snapper. A position that every team needs and great that he is willing to do whatever he can to make the team. I think we all remember the game where James Harrison tried to Long Snap...... Well actually I hope most of us forgot that train wreck.
It seems they are trying to get Darnell Washington involved more, but Anthony Averette will have none of it. Really a feisty DB, making a name for himself. Not sure what frigging direction to go in April. Looks like the collection of DB's might be good enough and theymigjt have to make a deal to move up to get McMillan if they don't find talent in free agency.

Right now our position of biggest concern is WR. Next we need to figure out our long term QB plans.

Crazy, really crazy. Patrick Queen said that teams don’t tackle in practice in the NFL. If you don’t tackle in practice you won’t tackle good in games

He found out that the Steelers do.

The trade for a WR seems to be dominating the Steelers Training Camp, kinda getting sick of it. Very doubtful they give up one of their 3 best young weapons currently on the Roster. (PIckens, Freiermuth, Austin III)

Darius Slayton might be available and it wouldn’t cost many draft picks or salary cap as Aiyuk.

We should offer the cowboys our first rd pick next season and Najee Harris for Cede Lamb.

Not impressed with Herbig, or Broderick Jones so far. Jones has given up 2 pressures, Herbig has had 2 fumbled snaps

Tomlin is at his regular season form already, he totally blows at challenges. That was a catch

Great call on the 4th and goal, throw was a little off but still catchable. Austin needs to be able to catch passes that aren’t between the numbers

Down 14-0, bringing some flashbacks from last season lol only preseason but not looking real sharp. Lot of errors on both sides of the ball

Notes on the game. Herbig to Fields is probematic, Frazier is most likely your day 1 starter vs. the Falcons.
Before we say how sucky the Steelers looked, this was Houston's second pre-season game, they have had more time to work out the bugs.
One thing we really are not talking about is the arm length of Fantanu, he got beat pretty easily, and in a game of inches, arms that were 2 inches longer would have prevented that sack.
The RB4 and RB5 are a good problem to have, not sure both Edwards and Ward will last on the PS.
We need to see Wilson and Wilson out there Saturday, will answer some more questions as to WR depth, and QB play.
I know Austin bobbled the ball in the corner, but he's short not sure why Kyle Allen threw it to him like like he was Darnell Washington. A foot lower that's a TD.
Tomlin in mid-season form, challenge the catch on the sideline, he got both feet in.
First pre-season game was no excuse for that Special Teams clusterfuck.
Hope we see some of Heyward, FItzpatrick. & Watt in the next game, one or two series.
Real logjam at DL and CB, wonder who makes the 53. Some of my favorite players Logan Lee, Darius Rush are on the bubble on the outside looking in.
Ryan Watts is a keeper, as is Peyton Wilson, lots of snaps and some learning curves but you have to like what you saw. Shout out to McCormick too, even though it was against non starters.
