My spelling and the Lecavalongoldlegs saga, sequin bolting, and Horton's and Perron's concussion history has me at the edge of my chair. How far will Seth Jones drop?

?Mike Cammalleri is a dynamic player who enjoyed great success playing in Calgary,? Flames general manager Jay Feaster said in a statement. ?We believe Cammalleri will help our offensive production, solidify a second scoring line, bolster our power play, and bring another strong veteran voice to our room. We are confident that a return to Calgary will be good for Mike and good for our continued pursuit of a playoff berth.? 1/13/2012

Feaster on Cory Sarich. "Cory is a true competitor who plays the game the right way, with fire and grit," he said. "We are thrilled to have Cory back in the fold on a contract that fits within our plan and enables us to continue to improve our hockey team." 6/29/2012

Reading alot of fans bashing Gillis rediiis, some even calling him the worst.

I laugh at how much worse it can get. When Gillis loses the division, I'll consider putting him down the list.

  12. not that we'll pick them but I hope Rychal or Domi's kid falls to the Wings at 18. as soon as they see those two names forget it, now if Stacy Roest has a kid all bets are off

  13. Bob how likely is it the Wings could swing a deal for Letang? Ive liked the guy for years and would love to have him here. I know it would take a lot but man would that be a difference maker for the Wings or whatever team he goes to. Pitt will want a kings ransom Im sure

The Detroit Red Wings' pursuit of free-agent forward Vincent Lecavalier has apparently begun.

According to a Tweet by TSN.ca's Ryan Rishaug, the Red Wings are among the teams who have scheduled meetings with Lecavalier, whose contract was bought out by Tampa Bay and will be able to sign with any team he chooses beginning July 5.

"Sources tell TSN Lecavalier camp has met with Dallas, St. Louis, Philli and Montreal with more to come tonite," Rishaug Tweeted Saturday night before later adding "Lecavalier meeting with Anaheim now, Detroit and Toronto to come still tonite. Lecavalier will meet with one more team early tomorrow then fly home."

Update: The meting with the Red Wings apparently will take place Sunday, according to a Tweet by CBC's Elliotte Friedman.

"Check that: hearing Lecavalier will meet with Detroit and Calgary tomorrow," Friedman Tweeted. "Two meetings, not one."

Hours after learning that the Lightning were buying out his contract, Lecavalier said the Red Wings were among the teams he was interested in joining.

Lecavalier, 33, was the No. 1 overall pick in the 1998 NHL entry draft and has spent his entire 14-year career in Tampa.

He has scored at least 20 goals 12 times in his career, topped 30 five times and led the NHL with 52 goals in 2006-07.

  15. K that didnt copy as good as I thought, sorry if thats a tough read. Vinny is coming to town *YAHOO*

Looks like half the league is looking at him. He could probably write his own check, lol. I just hope he really, really wants to be with the Red Wings and something affordable can be worked out. Im just not sure what that would be. I read the Panthers would like to re-sign Weiss and take a shot at Vinny too.

I'm not sure if I'm going to watch the draft, I don't think I can handle all the gms congratulating the cup champs and thanking the great franchise of NJ before they take a crapshoot on a kid.

DVRs are wonderful things. Which gm reaches about 25 spots to grab a kid this year? We'll say, "who will Feaster it?"

Salsa cookies, windmill cookies, and cake gets it done.

  19. hockeybob Hall-of-Fame Blackhawks

I don't think he's worth that much outside of Pit and I don't trust his health too much. Detroit needs forwards identified for the top 6, they have too many dmen to sort out the next 2 years. It will cost Detroit too much in a trade, and then they still have to pay a fortune to keep him. No thanks if I'm Kenny.

Lennie is losing it with all the Vinny talk.

I think he's been talking to 8 or 9 teams already, and it's not over yet.

So happy Chicago isn't wasting time on it. They have enough to do. If Boston gets Vinny and moves Seguin for help at the blueline...look out. I trust a coach like Julien, Babcock, Q, etc. to use him in a way to extend his career over guys like Bylsma, Boucher, Laviolette, Sutter, Hitchcock, Carlisle, etc.
