The Day We've All Been Waiting For

Hopefully today Nagy and Pace are told to take a long walk.

I don't THINK Nagy holds onto his job, but we will see.

On the other hand, as much as I think Ryan Pace has every bit of evidence pointing towards his incompetence, I'm not as sure that he gets fired. He recently did a radio interview, and all of the Bears' social platforms were pushing it. I'm not saying that means anything, but... at this point, I'm just trying not to get too optimistic. I remember shouting at my radio for hours on a long drive last year when they had the infamous "we've got everything but the wins" press conference...

Better days, Bears fans. That's all we can ask for. Let's hope today is the start.

Happy black Monday indeed, boys and girls.

Per Adam Jahns, exit interview meetings start at 9:30 central.

Don't make me wait, Chicago. Don't make this a Tuesday thing, please. Nagy and Pace should be fired, and shouldn't be conducting those exit interviews anyway.

Spielman and Zimmer got the axe in Minnesota.

    I like Spielman.

    But no word on Pace...

    Nagy must surely be gone.

As for Pace, his record doesnt need to be explained, we all know it. There's max 2 teams in the league who would keep him in the building at this point. The Texans possibly, and unfortunately for us, the Bears. I think he'll be moved to a different office. I just hope its something like taking the new stadium forward, pref with Sweaty fuck Ted as well. Its way more than he deserves, but also the most i see them doing sadly.

He's been 10x the GM Pace has. I rated him tbh.

Trying to remember the ghosts of Black Mondays past. When Trestman and Emery got fired, was it announced at the same time or separate times throughout the day? I definitely remember both was Black Monday morning. Anyone remember? Trying to give myself hope that Pace is gone too.

    I honestly can't remember, that's weird.

Schefty thinks Pace is being retained. But isn't confirming that.

The first question for every coaching candidate should be "Do you wear a visor"?

If memory serves me, everyman and his dog knew Trestman was dead, but Emery came as a bit of a surprise cos there hadnt been many rumours about it. Maybe im wrong but thats my recollection. Emery only hired one HC and it was believed they would show patience and give him one more crack.

Personally i think ownership is more reticent about that kind of boldness now tho. Faced with a Lovie 2012 scenario they would certainly keep him.

Nagy getting fired means nothing if the right person is not brought in to hire the next one. Pace hired Nagy because he was afraid the Colts would snag him first. Just like Paces draft picks Pace will never let things play out and go about things in a normal thorough way. He will jump the gun out of fear of losing his “guy” instead of operating a fair thorough search for the best fit.

I hate Schefter. It's proven he's just a liar who tries to make statements he knows will end up being right. His "sources" are often just his wet dreams.

That said, I think this is a pretty safe bet. But I won't be happy until I hear the Bears say it. And I won't be happy until the Bears say Pace is fired, too.

If Pace stays, he'll hire the next coach by doing secretive interviews, insisting he's never talked to the guy, then saying his favorite part about him was some beat up car he drove around. And he won't interview any other coaches, either.

    Fuck this guy.

That's sort of how I remember it, but I feel like Mongo had called Emery's firing ahead of time due to his "sources" within the organization. But I do remember being surprised that he had been fired too.

If Pace is retained but has NO input whatsoever on the football side of things, that's fine. Let him go count beans. It's way better than what he deserves, like you rightly say, but it's fine with me. Let him rot somewhere meaningless. Just don't let him ever utter a word that effects the way the Bears play football, ever again.
