I say bring him home, he could help on the edge on 3rd downs if nothing else and we all know that while the pass rush has been a little better lately, it still needs some help, especially coming down the stretch.
At this point, Suggs wouod mainly be helpful on rushing downs. We've been getting killed lately, at least in terms of a Ravens run defense
They did. Let's see if he fails to report. My guess, he shows up and takes one more shot at another superbowl run
I just saw Josh Gordon is suspended indefinitely again by the NFL. This time it's for PED instead of weed. Next time I suggest the Ravens bring Gordon to the team because he can't hurt as a flier, please quote this post back to me.
Yeah, he will probably report to the Chiefs, or he could Retire. It is really up to him. The Chiefs, 49ers, Seahawks and Saints all put a claim on him. It was pretty obvious that everyone can use an edge rusher this time of year.
So the Ravens tied a record with the 73 Dolphins for the most Pro Bowl selections in NFL history. At the same time, we again get to see a bit why Pro Bowl stuff is a joke. Jackson, Stanley, Andrews, Yanda, Ricard, Humphrey, Peters, Tucker, and Cox all deserve or could make a nice case for why they deserve to be in. Ingram is having a nice year, making me eat crow about his signing, and I'm glad we have him. At the same time, without seeing the roster, I have a hard time envisioning him the top 2-4 RB in the league. He's getting out rushed by his QB. Thomas and Judon don't deserve to be Pro Bowlers this season at all. Judon has had some nice games but is far too streaky with middling sack totals. Thomas has hardly been breathtaking. Orlando Brown as an alternate, sure I buy that. I actually thought he was going to get in. Sam Koch though, are you kidding me? The dude has barely punted all year. How can that be Pro Bowl worthy?
You know how the probowl goes. The best team will always have a player or two make it that likely shouldn't, primarily because of all the coverage they get.
Are you saying 13 guys made the probowl? The biggest joke about it is if you didn't have Jackson you probably have 5 at most. The whole team looks better when Jackson is breaking peoples ankles.
This made me think of something. The Ravens o-line was considered a huge liability coming into the season, but now most think it's one of the league's best units. Stanley and Yanda made the probowl and Orlando Brown Jr is an alternate. The above quote made me wonder though, is this part of the Lamar affect or at they just good? Matt Skura was the starting center up until the Bills game. Buffalo has a damn good defense and Skira went down in the first quarter. Patrick Mekari came in and didn't miss a beat. The Jets have a good defense as well, although not on the Bills level, and yet Mekari still kept it moving. Outside of a bad snap, he's been fine. Even more interesting, James Hurst was not a liability at LT for the first time.....ever. Hurst started at LT last Thursday in place of Stanley. Are the backups that good also? Disclaimer: The "Lamar effect" doesn't just mean Jackson,, it also includes the scheme being used as well as the play calling.
Defenses are on their heals against Lamar and it gives the oline an advantage. The trade for Peters coupled with Smith's return changed your defense completely.
