Steelers Week, Round 1

The Steelers are 6-0 for the second time in franchise history, the first time was in 78 when they won the superbowl. The Ravens are 5-1 for the third time in franchise history, the first two times were in 2000 and 2012 when they won the superbowl. Talk about an interesting clash.

Both teams have a relatively easy scheduled for their last 10 games. They have 2 tough games against each other, and then Baltimore has NE while Pittsburgh has Buffalo. The winner of this game has the front track to the division title.

Baltimore is adding Yannick Ngakoue to their pass rush. This is huge for a team that had to blitz to get pressure. Calias Campbell has been pretty good with his interior rush and will get former teammate Ngakoue drawing attention on obvious passing downs. Baltimore also signed Dez Bryant to the practice squad. You know he'll be called up eventually.

Pittsburgh has been dominating on defense and picking teams apart on offense. They have too many capable WRs for most teams to defend. If Baltimore can start getting pressure with 4 or 5, then the Ravens without a doubt have a secondary that can handle those WRs.......but will they is the question.

This should be a fun game and my guess is that the winner eventually gets the division title and the losers ends up the 5 seed

That’s going to suck for the team that winds up the five seed. Probably will have a better record than the team that they go on the road to play in the wild card round

Respect to both teams because there is the possibility of either being the AFC rep in the SB. Gonna be a tough one. The Steelers can stop the run so that will help but the Ravens are well-rounded and have a good defense. The great rivalry is back in all it's glory.

This game is truly going to be fascinating. I think it's a far more important game to the Ravens than the Steelers, though. If the Ravens win, the teams will be tied for the division, with a game still to go in Pittsburgh. If Pittsburgh just wins one of the 2 games against the Ravens, they have the inside track to the division...the Ravens will likely need to win both. If Pittsburgh wins this weekend, they'll have a 2.5 game lead (in essence) with the next game against the Ravens in Pittsburgh. Talk about an uphill battle for the Ravens!

All that said, what makes this game so fascinating is that it's strength against strength. The best rushing team against the best rush defense. An incredibly deep and talented WR corps against maybe the best secondary in the NFL.

I think the Ravens will have to be more careful with their Cover 0 in this game. As good as those CBs are, you don't want to leave guys in man coverage with no help over the top against this group of receivers. If the Ravens can play their safeties deep and still get pressure and stop the run, then they have an excellent chance to slow down the Steelers offense.

On the other side of the ball, it's all about Jackson. If he can keep the Steelers guessing and make some big plays with his arm, that will go a long way to slowing the pass rush and opening some running lanes! With no Devin Bush, the guy they drafted at least partially with the thoughts of playing the spy for Lamarr, the Steelers will likely play more Dime defense and keep a DB in that Spy role. That could make it easier for the Ravens RBs to find some creases to exploit.

My gut tells me this game goes to the Ravens. The Steelers are coming off a tough, emotional game against a really good opponent, while the Ravens are rested off their bye week. The Ravens are more desperate to win this game. Its in Baltimore. All that adds up to a Ravens win in my mind, but it should be a heck of a football game!

    GO STEELERS!

Good game guys. I can’t gloat because we played horribly. If we didn’t get every turnover we got we would have lost. I physically feel like crap after that game. Stressed me out so much.

That sucks about Ronnie Stanley. Good player and he just got rewarded for it. All the best for him. Great game today. That back and forth second half was almost too much for me.

Ravens had more rushing yards than the Steelers had total yards......and still lost. Can't give the ball away 4 times to a good team and have 3 times qs many penalties and expect to win.

Disappointing game as a Ravens fan, especially losing Stanley. Steelers win the division unless they have some unseen meltdown. We could win out while they drop 2 and they still probably win on tiebreakers. Can't expext them to lose 3 more on that schedule

Now Humphreys has COVID-19, the day after the game

Yup, and because of it, 7 players considered "at risk" due to contact with Humphrey have to quarantine.

"The seven players, according to a source are: LB Matthew Judon, LB Patrick Queen, S DeShon Elliott, LB L.J. Fort, LB Malik Harrison, CB Terrell Bonds, LB Tyus Bowser. "

Chris Board is the only available ILB right now. Oh and Phillips was put on IR and Stanley is done for the year. That's 10 total players who started Sunday who may not even play a week later
