another point on over-rating Alabama secondary, how is Sunseri rated that high?? There are 10 Safeties better than him. I will go out on a limb and say Buchannon will be better than Clinton-Dix and Hakeem Smith will be better than Vinnie Sunseri. Again I really like Deion Bailey out of USC.

Hoping to see the DVR of Miami vs. FLorida State.

I'm not ready throw the terrible towel in yet either, we can't afford to lose anymore games, we are basically playing for the final wild card spot right now, and we have a lot of ground to gain.

updated mock; with expert synopsis 8)

1, Mike Evans WR Ben wants a big WR. His YPA is way down the offense sux right now. Evans is a big target that is a matchup nightmare. He has good hands in traffic and will be the first WR off the board. I am thinking when Colbert steps up to the plate,, both LT's are gone and Evans is the best WR in this class. Basically it's Dez Bryant vs. Calvin Johnson, so you go Evans over Watkins, you always take the best player at this position in the draft, basic concept often overlooked by teams reaching for OL and QB help.

2,,DaQuan Jones, NT. Strong lower body,, gets pressure, less of a risk than Nix. McClendon could slide out to the five if they don't resign Ziggy Hood and or Keisel hangs em up.

3C, Cameron Erving- OT, not all of FSU's success is all Jameis Winston, his blind side protector is athletic and has a higher ceiling than someone like James Hurst.

    4. Pierre Desir, CB size,, ball skills, level of competition a question mark. This might be answered at the Senior Bowl or Shrine Game. Isiah Taylor came out of Louisianna-Layfayette, just sayin',

4C. James Gayle, OLB. Similar to Jason Worilds,, has a knack for getting to The QB, and is a good candiate to fit into LeBeau's or Butler's system.

    5. Greg Blair ILB, terrific playmaker, nose for the ball, will improve ST.

    6. Alfred Blue, RB. Another big back to spell Levon Bell. He's a Steeler type of back and replaces Felix Jones on the roster.

    7. Asante Clevelanb- TE, size, speed, hands. Above average blocker, upgrades the current 3rd TE roster spot., DJ Johnson may not be back. Not sure how Matt Spaeth heals.

I gave us a comp pick for Wallace and one for Keenan Lewis in the 4th, he inked a pretty good deal and Im hoping for better than a 5th rounder for him.

Bites if you are watching the FSU vs. Miami game right now you need to keep an eye on Nick O'Leary, he is exactly what we need in a TE/ football player, the kid is tough, finishes his receptions by delivering a blow, great blocker, good hands and can be used as a HB.

I taped it Roc, but yeah the grandson of Jack Nicklas. I was disappointed in Cleveland, seemed like the TE the 'Canes go to is #46, and he had a drop on series and the next he makes a juggling catch. I over-rated the LT from FSU, had a false start and is much more raw than I thought. The Massive LT from Tenn. has been up and down, as has James Hurst. It's a real crap shoot once Kuandjio goes off the board, somwhere around pick 11-12.

Gotta laugh at Walter FOotball, they gave Sefarian Jenkins to Belichick. If there's a TE with talent, but character flaws, Hoodie's all over them. *YES*

  7. Wishlist:

    1. Jake Matthews
    2. Jake Matthews
    3. Jake Matthews
    4. Jake Matthews
    5. Jake Matthews

  8. Add safety to the list. I still think Thomas has a place on this team against the run and covering in the slot but when they face the Gronk's of the world he is screwed. Need another guy for players like that.

3-13 = Jake Matthews, and Dick LeBeau retires. Tomlin is not on the hot seat, but the chair ain't cold either.

Trading away the 2014 3rd rounder, sorry there were better options. Hey I like Shamarko, I just am pissed off they overpaid for him, nothing against the person who puts on the uniform. Anyone who supports their family, is okay in my book.

  10. Just a hunch here, but I think they find a way back into the 3rd.

  11. My wish is to go with the Matthews duo, Jake in the 1st Jordan in the 2nd.

    Trade players to get picks?

I don't feel like updating the draft order any time soon. We're right back where we were during the 0-4 start.

Lots of things are happening that would indicate this as the worst season in Steelers history.

After watching the Steelers yesterday I am more interested than ever in what this upcoming draft has to offer.

A true LT is at the top of my wish list.
A true NG for the 3-4 is second. Even if LeBeau retires I expect the Steelers are going to stick with the 3-4.

If the Steelers end up picking inside of the top 5 is there any chance the Steelers take a QB? Are any of the QBs that will be available going to be franchise QBs? I'm curious as to what others on this board think.

Bridgewater and Manziel are the two I've seen enough to have an opinion. I'd say yes to Bridgewater and no to Manziel. I love watching Manziel but his style of play would make for a short career in the NFL. Bridgewater reminds me of a taller version of Russell Wilson who I loved coming out of Wisconsin.

I haven't watched enough of Mariota to have an opinion.

Mike Evans sure would be awesome..... Wow, could you even imagine???? I saw what he did to Bama.... And I am a big ugly whore!

I may be dreaming here, but some early second round pass rushers I like:

Van Noy - BYU - awesome, love, love, love!
    Vic Beasley - Clemson
Murphy - Stanford - this team needs some damn brains

Oh, and i like the chick-lit kid out of Miami.... Don't know much about him, but damn, explosive!

And the kid out of Texas is pretty good too!

I formed three mock drafts this week. None are perfect, but this is the one I like the most. Incidentally, it's the one I made about BPA + need, as opposed to just one or the other.

    1. Jake Matthews, OT, Texas A&M
    2. Jordan Matthews, WR, Vanderbilt
    3. Xavier Su'a-Filo, LG, UCLA
    4. Denzel Perryman, ILB, Miami
    5A. Silas Redd, RB, USC
    5B. Chris Burnette, RG, Georgia
    6. Hakeem Smith, FS, Louisville
    7. Carrington Byndom, CB, Texas

    UDFA. Josh Mauro, DE, Stanford
    UDFA. Zack Kerr, NT, Delaware

BYU plays Wisconsin this week. Good opportunity to watch Kyle Van Noy.

Also watch QB Taysom Hill. He's been on fire recently. The kid is a freakish athlete. He won't be coming out this season but I'm going to predict he's a future first round pick.

Cody Hoffman is a WR that has NFL talent. He's listed as 6'3" or 6'4" and 210-215 depending on which site you look at. He's finally got a QB that can throw the ball and he's looking better every week. He could be a steal in the 5th round.

Demo, not bad but maybe a little too heavy on OL and there is no DL or TE. Late in the draft I like the kid out of Wisconsin, Beau Allen as a NT prospect. I am interested to see Rob Branchflower, TE, UMass play, Victor Cruz and Vladimir DuCasse are recent examples of Minutemen who made it to the NFL.
