I haven't watched as much college football this season as I have in the past. I did catch the A&M vs Auburn game this weekend. Fun game to watch. It was crazy to watch Mike Evans continue to get open time after time even when Auburn knew what to expect he still got open! I'd love to see him in black and yellow.

Are the QBs many of the draft sites show going in the first round really that good?

Bridgewater, Mariotta , Hundley all top 10. Derek Carr May sneak into round 1 some team will trade back into the end of the round. Obvious choice to me would be Houston.I've got an early 3rd round grade on Tajh Boyd now, I had over-rated him in September.

Mike Evans will go before Watkins Pittsburgh gas a snowball's chance in hell of getting him.

  6. I'd include Manziel in there too. Not that I like him and I think he'll get squashed at the next level but you know some team will over draft him. I can see Zach Mettenberger sneaking into the 1st round as well. Stock down on Aaron Murray, looks like he's reached his ceiling which is a Chad Pennington or Alex Smith type QB. He's out of the 1st round for good and maybe out of the 2nd. Big boom or bust player is Stephen Morris, has all the tools but has yet to really put it all together. I caught part of the UNC-Miami game and he looked like he got rattled way too easily.

Mariotta is intriguing but he's just at the wrong place to become an NFL QB. Doesn't play under center or has much experience as a pocket passer. I rank him higher than Stephen Morris because he hasn't shown the inconsistencies or frustrating plays Morris will but I proceed with caution with him.

For the record Hundley is going to Cleveland. Lombardi has a plan in place. Getting the Steelers 3rd and Indianapolis's 1st was by design. I like the moves because let's face it: Cleveland hasn't had a QB worth a Shatted out pile of pinto beans since Bernie Kosar.

  8. I sure hope not. Hopefully Hundley stays in school and Cleveland goes with someone like Manziel.

"What have you done for me lately" and loss total go into consideration, because meticulously arranging a mock draft order based on half-games when no team will have any sort of half-game advantage on any other at the end of the season is both boring and pointless in the long run. It just so happens that the Steelers are "beneficiaries" right now. The next time they lose, they may make a drastic climb in the order. I don't let biases sway me, but this way it makes things interesting.

We'll probably get a 7th round comp for Mendenhall.

I go by present draft prospect rankings when drafting players. Evans is popularly lower than Watkins currently, so we got him despite us picking 16th in my fantasy mock. I'm not of the mind that Evans is head and shoulders above Watkins, and I never have been. Hype could very well push Evans over Watkins though.

It seems if recent trends are what they are that we will go WR in the first round. No CB, OG, NT, or DE is worth picking in our range. In the mid-teens, no OT is either. Antonio Richardson scares me. I don't remember Tennessee tackles having great success in the NFL, and big right-tackle types are all we really have anyway.
