Ty for the heads and welcome.

Ok ill put him down as someone ill take a look at this weekend, i figure i can swing watching 12 or so games.

I think ill start with just targeting top tier talent then see where my eyes go and go from there as i dont have last years tape or knowledge to look for sleepers etc or guys i liked from the prev year who didnt declare.

also ill sure as shit focus on LB and D line because - its the most comfortable aspect of my analysis but i dont know if either of our teams will go LB too early in the draft, or D line- maybe. BPA is always a thing though.

Nope . . . he isn't. He's more like RGIII in that he will probably get crushed during his first season and then marginally suck from then on.

Nope - He is more of a pocket guy.. Teddy throws a nice ball...

    enjoy,

So what positions can be considered in the draft next year? Honestly, I think they're all worth consideration except for safety, but I limited this list to ten of them, largely based on upcoming expiring contracts. This season simply isn't going well.

RB - This goes without saying. Good thing most of our RBs' contracts expire in March anyway.
WR - Sanders is set to hit FA, as is Cotchery. One could be gone thanks to price tag, the other (or both depending on your perspective) thanks to lackluster play.
TE - Paulson is terrible and Johnson has become useless. Neither should be on the 2014 roster.
OT - Where's the fraking depth?!
OG - Same. Maybe Pouncey should move to LG.
DE - Three of the four we have are set to hit FA.
NT - We only have two, neither of which is completely solid.
OLB - Who knows if Jason Worilds will be back.
ILB - Larry Foote ought to retire.
CB - Terry Hawthorne must have been awful. We only have three who are worth any playing time, one of which is injured.

P.S. I checked out Eric Ebron and you guys were right, he can play. ASJ isn't the only option we'll have at TE.

Bridgewater is a pocket passer, taj Boyd is the mofo option Q B
Taylor Lewan is solid but not spectacular. Seas trunk is going in round one , I think he's that good. I'd like to see Pittsburgh trade back if they're in the top 5, get another second and a first in 2015. I disagree with Demo I thought Davjd Johnson really helped last night in the passing game. I also think Mclendon is doing a good job at NT. DeCastro had a much better game. Your weak spots are Gilbert & Paulson

My outsider opinion is OT, CB, OLB. No other position need be considered. I know that isn't realistic but they are the areas of greatest need. The LT position MUST be addressed before the franchise QB goes down for yet another season.

I wasn't referring to his playing style . . . more to his physical stature. He's only 196 lbs.

  8. I don't see Bridgewater getting killed the way RG3 did because he doesn't play recklessly. RG3 could run it a dozen or more times a game and on top of it all he doesn't slide or duck out of bounds. Bridgewater's playing style is a lot more like Luck.

I think Manziel gets killed in the NFL. He tries to play like Roethlisberger but is only 6'1". He's not going to make those circus plays in the NFL.

  9. nybites M.V.P. Steelers UCONN

Bridgewater is Jay Cutler sized not RGIII sized

  10. Lyman "Franchise Asshole" Browns Buckeyes

    Cutler is 233 pounds (+/-)

RG III is around 223 pounds

Bridgewater is a buck ninety and change.

  11. I saw Adam Fales play vs. Minnesota on Saturday and really focused on him and Chandler Jones and that was a great combo that worked all night. I think Fales is a big time sleeper, he looked like he can make all the throws and is a traditional pocket guy.

Also forget their names but the Minnesota running backs ran all over San Jose State.

  12. Depending on who declares this QB class is looking strong and deep.

    Teddy Bridgewater
    Johnny Manziel
    Tahj Boyd
    Aaron Murray
    AJ McCarron
    David Fales
Zach Mettenberger (actually looks like a pro passer)
    Bryn Renner
    Derek Carr
    Stephen Morris
    Keith Price

And that isn't even including Brett Hundley and Kevin Hogan. If those two are smart they stay in school and compete to go #1 overall in 2015. Also credit to the job David Shaw has done at Stanford. Stanford is lucky they locked him up because he'd be a wanted man by the NFL and some of these big programs.

All these years as a Steelers fan and I never knew Mean Joe Greene and I have the same birthday. Today just got a lot sweeter.

To me it's TE, DE, CB. Mike Adams needs time and I am always leery of making certain positions draft focuses year after year. We almost certainly won't pick OLB early because of Jarvis Jones. TE won't be an option where we currently are in the draft, but we could really use another talented player there. Same for DE, but we stand to have our depth depleted there in March. CB is the most likely of the three positions to be addressed early in the draft. Bradley Roby would be the best need pick we could make, albeit he almost certainly wouldn't be BPA.

I'm daydreaming about Jake Matthews, however, and how amazing he would be for us.

Bridgewater, Hundley, Carr those 3 will be starting NFL quarterbacks. Mettlenberger is prototypical but with the Russell Wilson variable I've learned to put intangibles over pure physical stature.

  16. I agree, but I list him because people will draft him because of that wow factor he's shown in college.

  17. I have those three, Hogan and Boyd as the best chances to be starters. Boyd has everything you want in a QBL arm strength, decision making, pocket presence, mechanics, etc. he is just 6'1". A few years ago I'd be concerned but with guys like Brees and Wilson finding success I think Boyd will too.

Murray is a lot like Boyd, but I don't think he has the same upside. At the very least he should be a quality backup.

McCarron to me is another Alex Smith. Not going to pass his way to a ton of wins but will never blow a game for you. Put him on a team with talent and he will take them to the post-season. Renner is basically in the same boat for me.

I don't know a ton about Fales or whether or not he just took advantage of the WAC but I saw him a lot last year and could see him as a quality backup

Morris I've only seen play once but he's got the tools and a live arm. He can move a lot, he may end up with Tajh Boyd or down with Logan Thomas.

Keith Price's stock is down because of a down year but I haven't given up on him yet. He's almost the opposite of Jake Locker, he's got the accuracy just not the size.

  18. While we are on the subject I'm very intrigued by Devin Gardner. He's explosive and looks like a playmaker and, unlike Denard Robinson, he's played WR before and is 6'4" to boot.

I wanted Shaw to be the Steelers' offensive coordinator not too long ago. His success is no surprise to me.

Also, I personally know a really cute girl named Logan Thomas. Funny how that checks out.

  20. I bet she has better aim than him too :D
