Now the tune is changing. He wasnt arrested just detained for questioning according to NBC.

Got to wait and see what unfolds, I guess. How the hell a major reporting hub comes out with headlines that say, Castro Arrested' when in fact he wasnt, is pretty shoty reporting.

UPDATE: Dominican police rep Jacobo Mateo Moquete announced via Twitter that Castro is free after being questioned about the shooting.

3:24 p.m. ET: Castro?s agent, Paul Kinzer, told Paul Sullivan of the Chicago Tribune that his client ?wasn?t involved? in the shooting and went voluntarily to the police to be questioned:

?Starlin was not arrested or detained or anything,? Kinzer said. ?He went to the police station to make sure they knew he was not involved. They told him they had video so they knew he was not involved.?

Kinzer did not know if the brother or Castro?s bodyguards were arrested.

hard to believe, but apparently, u can't necessarily believe everything that's tweeted. my world is upside down now.

lol. I learned another valuable lesson. Even if it's reported by ESPN and then NBC runs with it, it aint necessarily fact. Some folks were trying to break a story... I fell into the trap also.

They just need to table this, but part of it is on Starlin also. Whether or not it is your own country, you have to find ways to not be in certain areas while you are representing a team in the United States. The Chicago Cubs employ him.

Either stay in the U.S., or wait till your career is over and then do whatever you want to do.

I am sure that the Cubs will have a talk with him and his agent because the Cubs are the ones who are getting the bad publicity, much more than Castro is.

I agree with you. He really needs to be more careful. He should avoid the area, unfortunately, or at least the company he hangs with, if necessary, to prevent him from getting caught up in the middle of this stuff. The Cub's dont need it and it sounds like stuff he doesnt need either.

He goes there and may land up in the wrong place at the wrong time, then everybody gets hurt.

Bottom line, where there is smoke there's fire, he better find a way to disassociate himself from being to close to the smoke.

Just to follow up - From HBT and MLB...
Sounds like common sense, but the urge to go there will be a factor.

Anyway, I just would like to say before I mozy along, I hope the best for the Cub's this year. I like their team this season coming up. Good luck

Starlin finds himself around bad situations far too often.
