Both the NFL and NFL Players Association jointly reviewed the situation where the Seattle Seahawks failed to apply the concussion protocol for QB Russell Wilson during their Week 10 win over the Arizona Cardinals. This has resulted in a $100,000 fine for the team, and the coaching and medical staffs will be required to attend remedial training regarding said protocol. Was this a good enough punishment? Obviously, the possibility of losing a draft pick was looming. Should that of happened? Let's discuss!
Unless it’s a rookie receiver taking out a dirty player between the whistles of course. Then they throw the book at him.
Carroll will do anything to win....Wilson is they key. The Cowboys are going to eat their lunch this week. I can't wait to watch Pete Carroll during yet another loss.
To be taken seriously, the team fines should be severely increased AND count against the salary cap. If the fine puts a team over the cap, then they lose a 3rd or 4th rounder or something like that. It would definitely help with the NFL's image to appear to be serious about their current and/or future concussion protocol if the penalty was stronger and applied accordingly. $100K? For a team, that's a holiday charity donation. Fine them $5M and count it against the cap. They (F/O and coaches) will take that shit waaaaaay more seriously if their actions can also negatively impact the team.
