Franco is at the center of some of my earliest football memories as I was just six when the Steelers won their first. My father was from Monroeville PA so we always rooted for the Steelers and I still do.

Thoughts to his family for their loss.

  3. Rest in Peace Franco.......he was a GREAT man on and off the field.

I have great memories of Franco Harris vs Earl Campbell in the 70's and 80's.

Pittsburgh always won in those days and they had a great team.

I did not know he was sick ???......thoughts and prayers go to his family.

So close to the anniversary of the immaculate reception, Franco was a major cog in the offense of our dynasty. One of the players who helped me become a fan of the Steelers as a child. We will miss you. Glad you got to see your number retired.

Sorry to hear Franco passed away. What a great person he was on and off the field. And of course his catch will be one of many things that immortalizes him in the halls of NFL history.

He did a radio interview with Chris Russo, hours before he died saying he felt great.

Quote "Doing great, fantastic," Harris replied when Russo asked him how he was feeling. "And as you said, 50 years ago, and it feels brand new."

How quickly things can change unfortunately......

    A true legend.

Just watched the immaculate reception and that was the play I remember most from my childhood. I’m not even sure if I saw it live or just saw the replay a million times. Never gets old seeing it unless your name is John Madden.

Is there a player with a bigger iconic play that defines a franchise than Franco and the immaculate reception? It helped launch the Steelers into a dynasty.

Perhapse Dwight Clark and the catch? It did the same for the 49ers ending the cow ous hold on the nfc and launching the G.O.A.T. on his path

Now the brother of Dan Rooney, John Rooney has died. He was a minority owner of the team. A lot of things for the Steelers to play for the rest of the season.

I agree yes it was a good Football game LIVE.......and the score was 13-7 for Pittsburgh.

Christmas Eve 2022 the score was 13-10 for Pittsburgh 50 years later......that is Spooky.....lol
