For the first time in his career, QB Joe Flacco will be fully healthy and not starting as he's been moved to the backup QB position behind rookie Lamar Jackson. Jackson, will have his 5th career start as he tries to help the team bounce back from an OT loss against the KC Chiefs. The Bucs do not have a Stellar defense so the Ravens will likely continue their gameplan with Jackson featuring ball control, smash mouth, offense with a heavy run game. Kenneth Dixon has reemerged in the run game and is reminding his former fans why they were so enamored with him early in his career. Whether or not he gets the start of Gus Edwards is to be determined. The Ravens defense needs to be wary of this Tampa Bay passing attack. The Bucs have the #1 offense and #1 passing attack when ranking both by yardage. This will be the Ravens' 3rd game in a row against a top ranking passing game (Atlanta #4 and KC #3) so the pass defense will once against be tested. WR Desean Jackson may have lost a step but he's still fast enough to get behind any defense while fellow starting WR Mike Evans can just dominate most CBs. With the Steelers dropping last week's game against the Raiders and only maintaining a half game lead on the division, Baltimore has a chance to take the top AFC North spot this week and never look back, but they have to make sure they win and hope the Patriots can do what they usually do and beat Pittsburgh. I'm sure very few Ravens fans expected 10 wins and/or the division title to be in play when going into the bye week at 4-5 and starting a raw rookie at QB, yet here we are. LET'S GO, RAVENS!!!
This is the game for Lamar to put his stamp on the team. Anyone that hasn't already got on board with Lamar being our quarterback of right now needs to get on the bandwagon today! Time for a Baltimore style beatdown!
The rain is going to be the real x factor today. Ball security better be on point, but it's also going to be tricky to rely on our CBs covering on a slippery field.
The offense is looking like they are still on the plane back from KC. The Bucs are all over the run right now and destroying the OL. protection and running lanes aren't there.
And there's the ball security. It's the recipe for how the Ravens lose a game they have no business losing. The Tampa defense sure looks good against them. There is no space at all. Tampa by far is the superior team one quarter in.
Not sure this pass heavy gameplan is the way to go. Regardless of which QB is in, we shouldn't be passing 4 times straight in the first with a 0-0 score
Warning bout what? Did u just see that pass....it hit the defender in the back...not one Balt poster has said a word
First drive the OL has got some push in the run game. Dixon run to the outside and Edwards in the middle.
3rd and 20 is basically a guaranteed first down for the opposing team. I was going to type it before the play happened, but I'm on mobile. Add another to the defensive fail reel. It's crazy how time and again the defense fails the team in big moments.
