After a 20-0 shut out victory in Cincinnati, the Ravens will host the Cleveland Browns in the first game at M&T Bank Stadium for the 2017 season. The Ravens are coming off an impressive defensive effort featuring 5 turnovers and 5 sacks while pitching a shut out. And today they'll be hosting a rookie QB in his first away game. Things could become fun for Baltimore. For the Browns, for a fair chance at this game, they need to do two things. The first was make sure rookie Deshone Kizer knows he can't hold the ball as long as he did against the Steelers. Kizer was sacked 7 times, but more than half of those game from holding the ball two long. The Ravens defense is as fast, or maybe faster, than the Steelers so holding on to the ball may lead to a long afternoon for the Cleveland offense. The second thing, is shutting down the run on defense. Last week, Baltimore imposed their will against the Bengals, running it up to 11 straight times against a Bengals defense that knew it was coming. Meanwhile, the Browns shut down Le'Veon Bell. Now some add an asterisk to that because the Bell was holding out until the week before the first game, so he wasn't in football shape at all. Still, holding him under 50 yards is impressive by most accounts. Of these two things, I think the first one will be the hardest for Cleveland to do. Sure they could have spent the week focusing on getting rid of the ball quicker, but on paper the Ravens secondary is better than the Steelers secondary. So if Kizer was holding on to the ball due to coverage reasons, he may have the same issue today. Ravens fans should definitely expect to see a better passing performance out of the offense. Flacco has been completely removed from the injury report this week so he may be expected to throw more and better than he did last week. If he has built chemistry with his receivers, he could have a good day against a Browns secondary that no longer has Joe Haden harass Joe (3 INTs last season). Let's hope the offense starts to roll. LET'S GO, RAVENS!!1
Tim Williams is active today and will get his first taste of live NFL action. Z Smith, C,Moore, Henry, Kaufusi, Wormley, Eluemunor, and J.Hill are all inactive.
That looked like organized chaos presnap. Forced the Browns offense to hesitate for the delay of game. 3rd and long
Good job by the offense to put a TD on the board after a turnover. Flacco definitely looks healthy right now with the way he scrambled on that one play. Let's hope it sticks
I wonder why Kaufusi is inactive. Same with Moore since he's been the main KO returner and Camp was injured (surprise).
