Guess we should have seen this coming following the far-less-than-positive quotes coming from Jerry Jones on Sunday Night. A shame we never got to see a healthy Ratliff in a 4-3, which (I think) would have better served his skill-set even thought he WAS one of the best DTs in the league operating out of an odd-front in 2008-2010. I know we've got some dead money on our hands, but ultimately this was a good move. We actually SAVE about $1.3 million against next year's cap by cutting him, and he's off the books completely in 2015. Movin' on...
Yea Axe, I felt this was gonna happen. It aint the guy wasn't good he just couldn't get healthy. Thats why I feel next year it will be time to let Miles Austin go. I feel he is heading down that same road. Its time to move on.
^^^ I'm with ya. I like what Miles can bring when he's healthy...he just hasn't been able to stay healthy for more than two years now. Besides, I like what I've seen so far out of Terrence Williams (although the WR I was banging the drum for pre-draft -- Keenen Allen -- is doing a pretty good job for San Diego) and Cole Beasley in the slot.
Yea I really like Terrance Williams and Cole Beasley (especially Cole). The guy just knows how to get open in the slot position. The offense was like night and day when he is on the field.
Cole is a poor man's Wes Welker (which is the same thing we were syaing about Danny Amendola when we had him), and he fits in perfect when we have someone like Williams who can stretch the field and Dez, who's just a BEAST on the intermediate stuff. I know there are only so many passes to go 'round, but I think we're going to see Dwayne Harris get more looks as well. He just has a knack of making plays.
How does Ratliff go from probably sitting out the season before we cut him to being cleared to return after we cut him? SMDH, he played the Cowboys.
