I don't know if it was Ollison's choice to jump ship or if Atlanta simply didn't offer him a practice squad berth here. He performed so well in the preseason games (and looked good in the practices I saw as well) that I can't imagine the team kicking him to the curb entirely. But he was one of Dan Quinn's players, and Quinn apparently had put in the good word for him with the pro scouting side of the Dallas front office. The odd thing is they didn't sign him to their roster (as had been rumored), but rather to their own practice squad. The good news for Atlanta is that it means Ollison is still a free agent. If Atlanta needs to add another running back, they can sign him from the Dallas practice squad at any time. In the meantime, the Falcons have the quartet of Cordarelle Patterson, Damien Williams, Tyler Allgeier and return man Avery Williams on the roster, along with fullback Keith Smith. Caleb Huntley is on Atlanta's practice squad.
The Falcons are pretty well stacked at the RB position. Depth is essential so its a real good thing. Patterson, Williams and Allgeier aint too shabby.
