Huge Blue Jackets fan and this late season run has been nothing short of sensational. Anyone else a fan and know of any NHL boards worth visiting? I can't believe the Jackets are really in the hunt.

not really a NHL fan but will be watching some of the Blue Jackets playoff run . i really don't understand hockey but do love it when they beat the hell outta each other . Columbus needed a pro sports franchise and they have one . how is attendance at the games ? sorry for my stupidity but i really haven't kept up . but now there close or are in the playoffs i will be paying more attention .
welcome to the best sport on earth, bluez stick with it. i know it can be intimidating for a new fan to understand, but it's actually pretty simple. aside from learning what's a penalty and what isn't (and if u ask hardcore fans, they'll tell u many refs still haven't figured that out ), there are really only a couple of major concepts to understand: offsides - the puck has to be the first thing across your opponent's blue line. none of your players can be across the line ahead of the puck. icing: if you shoot the puck from your side of center ice and it crosses the opponent's goal line (outside the net, of course), it comes back for a faceoff in your zone, assuming the other team touches the puck first, and the goalie doesn't play it or attempt to. icing can be waved off if the officials feel someone could have played the puck before it got to the goal line. edit: a team is allowed to ice the puck when they're shorthanded. other than that, there's really not much to learn. it's fast, it's physical, it's the best. and the playoffs only get gooder
attendancew could be better. But thats due to Jackets from sucking pretty much this whole time since they came into the league and hockey not being huge in Ohio. Games are great though. Don't have to wait a week in between games and theres only like three commercial breaks every period. Its nonstop action and there's almost never a moment when you're waiting for something to happen. Its quickly become the most entertaining thing to watch on TV.
Thanks for the info . a couple friends of mine have season tickets for Blue Jackets . they have asked me to go in the past but i always had something else going on it seemed . they ask again i will take them up on it . i love the Arena district in Columbus ..Party time after the game .
I wouldn't say it's only fun to watch in person... But I will say I didn't "get it" until watching in person!!
The Jackets just missed out on the playoffs . they had a nice run to end the season but fell just short . I will be watching them more next season and plan on attending a game . i will take my friends offer up this time .

My bad. I hadn't seen the nhl board before posting here. Can't have too much hockey though. Now's the perfect time to get into it. Jackets aren't the same franchise they've been. Prices are still too damn high for a damn though. Getting half season tickets here for next season I think.
