https://www.nbcsports.com/chicago/b...-correct-decision-mitch-trubisky-wrong-result Not a bad breakdown of one of the RPO plays. Posted since Mongo is too much of a slackass to post his own film room anymore. (Says the guy who’s posting someone else’s breakdown instead of his own)
Let's see Baby is too lazy to find the original music thread so she just makes a new one. BWW is too lazy and or hungover to create a NFC North Champs edition thoughts, Mongo as mentioned, and V2 for hijacking someone else's breakdown. I think there must be something going around on this board because I'm going to take a nap.
Work is killing me lately. I used to get my best threads done instead of "working". Now I actually have to work. My dumb ass fault for having 5 kids...
With regards to the play he's breaking down, I remember this play live. Even though it did look like Daniels missed the assignment, Brown did not get a clean shot on Mizzell. From where I was sitting, it looked liked Mizzell went down on a shoe string tackle. I'll find the all-22
the author also says: "Still, Nagy said Trubisky made the right decision on the play. So why didn’t it work? " The fact that Mizzell was in on this play tells you Nagy did not make the "right decision".
Just razzing you a bit dude. I only have two kids and that’s gonna be enough to put me in the grave I can’t even imagine 5.
Never mind, just watched the all-22, he did get a good shot on Mizzell. Daniels definitely fucked this up.
Great post varder, i love these film threads. I agree with most of what the analyst says. Trubisky does read this play correctly and does go the right place with the ball. It very clear that Daniels completely screwed up this play, although i have no idea why he thought he could pass off the inside rusher. With 3 guys stacking inside AND a MLB showing blitz it was just a crazy decision. Its almost like he's assuming its gonna be a run and the linemen inside of him are gonna be stretch blocking along the axis of the run. But that couldn't possibly happen because this is an still RPO, the QB could just as easily look to pass. I don't agree with the analyst tho that if Daniels makes his block this is at least a FD, maybe 10yard gain. For the same reason you guys have said, Mizzell is out there. He could easily have not followed his block and bounced it the wrong way, as he's done before this season. Conclusions: Daniels, don't blow your assignment. Mizzell, don't let the bench get cold.
LOLOL!!! tuna tuna tuna .... You are one funny dude. I think this must be a Chicago thing. I hope you had a great nap ...
I saw a stat on twitter yesterday that showed the Bears have the league's lowest YPC when running out of RPOs.
This wouldn't surprise me in the least. The team does not make its yardage on the ground, here. When they line up and actually commit to running the ball, they do well. I'm not saying the RPO has to go, or anything, but if the team wants to run, that shouldn't be the chosen approach.
I think it's an indictment of the players blocking and not the scheme. The Bears don't block well in the run game...especially on the interior. And especially especially since Kyle Long went down.
