Nationals GM Rizzo talks how he changed losing into winning

Sounds very similar to what the Cubs are doing. In fact, many successful teams have done it this way. Farm first, free agents after to compliment. :-*

Exactly what have the Nationals done to proclaim them successful?

Two playoff series losses in the LDS? Less than what Jim Hendry accomplished that you fanboys declare a failure?

Glad to see we are being consistent here.

And they have lost for a prolonged period of time before all the parts of the farm came together first.

You keep ignoring that fact, but it remains a fact.

Just like you ignore the facts that teams have won a WS using FA first and almost entirely.

If ignorance is bliss, you are the happiest person around.

And you are going to a WS where it is exactly the opposite, plus with teams that you have said the Cubs shouldn't be like yet they are there. That's about par for the course with you.

And NEVER have I said entirely, and anyone on here would attest to that if you would pull your head out of your ass.

Sure is ironic how you can look back at teams and see their horrible records like the Tigers, Orioles, Royals, Pirates, Rays, Phillies, Nationals, Mariners and so on, and then all of a sudden, the farm is in place and maturing and they go out and get pieces to add to it and then they start winning. :-*

Now put your sippie cup down and go back to doodling your artwork in crayon titled, "Everyone Is Wrong According To Me". *WRITE*

Love it how the Royals are now the flavor of the month blueprint on how to run a franchise that the fanboys latch onto.

You know, the only team prior to this playoffs to have not made the playoffs in the last 29 years in the four major sports in North America.

That is quite the blueprint to follow.

Sure is ironic how you ignore the long and extended periods of losing that it took to get that farm in place "all of a sudden"

How did you get so dumb so fast?

You used to agree with me on the extended periods of losing, but 'all of a sudden' you choose to ignore that.

    Fanboys will be fanboys.

    Accurate as ever.

I've never said everyone is wrong according to me. Nice little fanboy hyperbolic statement you use when you run out of facts and intelligence.

I've seldom disagreed with Sour, Pat, AF and several others who are intelligent enough to think for themselves instead of mindlessly repeating that prospects first is the only way to build a team.

In fact i think the only time I've disagreed with Sour is when the two of you were mindlessly droning on and on about how Tony Stewart intentionally sped up his car and ran over that kid on purpose and was going to be criminally charged and never drive again. I said there was no chance he would be charged criminally.

    Psst. You were wrong.

A GM blowing smoke. It's very simple - identify talent, get talent. Whether you bring the talent up through your system or go and sign them via free agency, it's about assembling a talented roster. The Nats hit a couple home runs on guys (at the top of the draft, with obvious picks) in a very short period of time, and its brought them into some relevancy. Has it brought them anything more? Not yet. And, if they can't continue to bring in talent, it won't get them anything. Or, you could go the Marlins route - get the talent, give the talent away. There are a thousand ways to do it - at the end of the day, it comes down to whether or not you have the players, not how you got them.

    Sorry, but that is wrong.

The fanboys have read from their Dummy's Guide to Baseball that tells them how to think that the only way to acquire talent is to develop it in the farm first and then FA second.

One and only one way to do it, not a thousand.

I however to appreciate your contribution which shows independent thought and the ability to think for yourself.

    Kudos to you.
