The last thing we needed was a coach that plays not to lose. We've had too many of those coaches....and Pace hired another one. Or at least that is what Nagy has proven himself to be through five games.

There is no excuse for coming out that flat after a bye week. The whole first half was an abortion. Terrible effort...terrible execution.

Bears defense got torched on first down runs. They missed more tackles than I can recall them ever missing in any game I've ever watched. They quit on plays. They stood around and watched plays. The entire defense played like they were on a short week instead of coming off a bye. The players need to take responsibility for their effort but that's also a coaching problem. How is your defense not ready? How do you keep sending Leonard Floyd to rush the passer when he can't get close enough to the QB to spit on him..let alone sack him?

I'm tired of watching Floyd spin and go nowhere. Tired of seeing him not even come close to getting off a block. Fucking tired of this wasted pick. He's a bust. I'm done with him.

Aaron Lynch probably quit on a play 5 or 6 times yesterday. I'd say cut him but you'd have to cut a bunch of other guys as well.

How many times does Kyle Fuller need to go for a runners ankles only to have a defender jump over him before he's gonna learn that maybe he needs to tackle a little higher than toe level?

Why not air it at the end of regulation and try to get in field goal position? You had scoring drives where it took 3 plays to get down the field and score a touchdown....but at the end of the game with a chance to win...you're butthole tightens up?

Why not throw it or do something more creative on 3rd down in OT to try to get closer? How is settling for a 50+ yard attempt a good idea? You have a million gadget plays and creative things in your arsenal...and you go vanilla as fuck when it really matters? Blow me.

Howard and Cohen fumbles was completely brutal. Can't do that. Howard took 7 points off the board. Cohen ended what could have been a scoring drive.

Trevathan was awful...all game. So was Hicks. The run game went right through those guys.

Roquan Smith was the only guy out there making solid tackles...outside of a few Eddie Jackson made late in the game. But even Smith got caught out of position a lot.

Think this was bad? Belichick and McDaniels are gonna watch that film and come to town next week and torch the Bears. Oh you can't cover a spread offense very well? Have a problem making plays when the pass rush doesn't have time to get home? Let me show the Patriots with their hurry up offense and their 3 step drop spread it out game. Oh you struggle making tackles? Here's Gronk...here's Sony Michel and James White. Mitch better be ready to score some points because they will need it next Sunday.

In closing....fuck all NFL officials. A couple weeks ago in the Browns/Raiders game the officials blew their whistle when a defender had just barely wrapped up the QB saying that forward progress was stopped...even though the play resulted in a fumble...the fumble didn't count because some dickhead on the field blew his whistle way too soon. Why wasn't a whistle blown when Floyd stopped Amendola's forward progress and wrestled with him...the official just watched. Not saying Floyd needed to bodyslam him....but where's the whistle. And that call on Burton? That play happens in every game...every Sunday. That was a legal play. A few plays after that Miami would run a screen and a Miami receiver did the same thing six yards down the field instead of two yards down the field like Burton and there was no flag.

I'm not excusing the throw Mitch made on the INT after that call. But that call was ridiculously bad.

And the roughing the passer call on Floyd? Is this roughing the passer now?

Bears lost this game. The refs didn't lose it for them. Too many problems on defense and a brutal offensive first half. But those calls....were complete shit.

Didn't get to watch the entire game, based on what I saw and have read since....

This loss is 100% on the coaches, specifically Nagy and his BS Club Tropicana approach to being a HC.

I'm already starting to dislike Nagy intensely and the Trestman vibe is worrying. Basically he looks to me like a pussy, from the soppy man management skills to the cutesy play calling right down to the stupid bald head and visor combo. Pussy.

I already can't watch another of his pressers ever again cos it pisses me off too much, which after 5games may be a record. Thing is, Fox was an annoying prick in his pressers but that was deliberate. He wanted to be a dick and prob even enjoyed it. Nagy, I think he actually believes the complete crap he comes out with.

Yes at times the officiating was a fucking crime. And yes there were too many turnovers. And yes there was some freak Miami Curse stuff at times too. But none of that is why the Bears lost. They lost cos of their attitude. And that attitude was allowed come about cos of the approach of the HC. If the Bears wanted that game enough yesterday they woulda had it.

That's twice in the last 3 games they've come out looking like they think they just have to turn up. They got away with it in Arizona. They didn't in Miami.

Time for the stick Nagy, if you have the balls for it. Speaking of which, guess the streaming link should be up soon for bww cutting one of his nuts off.

In a pile of shit game Eddie Jackson disappointed me the most. He might have made a few tackles but he whiffed horribly in both of the big Wilson TDs and gave up the first TD to the TE.

I will never understand how you take the ball out of Trubisky’s hands in OT. 1 fucking attempt on the first play and then 5 runs. And then instead of owning it after the game Nagy gets snippy saying if they would have taken a sack or a penalty they would roast him in that too. Really! Mr. aggressive is mor like Mr. chicken shit.

I'm not ready to say Nagy is like Juicebox or Nagy is a pussy. I don't like how he handled overtime yesterday but there were so many other things we fucked up that I'm not going to dwell on it more. If Parkey makes that kick, we're not talking about the playcalling in OT. And please note that I was screaming for them to throw downfield in OT on the game thread.

I hope behind closed doors he is holding the team accountable. Particularly the defense. That was a Mel Tucker performance yesterday, plain and simple. Missed tackles, quitting on plays, taking shit angles on tackles. The entire defense didn't come ready to play and that has to be on the coaching staff, Fangio included. I'm getting tired of all the praise heaped on Fangio, remember last year after the bye week our D came out completely flat against the Packers and let their backups run/pass all over us? What the fuck Fangio? Two weeks to get the team ready and they come out looking like that. Awful.

The bottom line is this defense is nowhere near as good as most people want to believe. Not just because we allowed 541 yards to a Dolphins team missing several key starters, or gave up 3 TDs in the 4th quarter against the Packers. When Khalil Mack is not making an impact, we see them for what they are. An average unit missing a leader and a playmaker. Mack is the reason we won against the Seahawks and Cardinals. Without him we're 1-4 right now on our way to another 4-5 win season. With him maybe we're a .500 team.

Consider this though. Both our losses, while total team losses, really can be pinned on the defense's failures to close the deal in the 4th quarter. They're not on Trubs. Trubs wasn't great against GB but he did enough. He definitely did enough yesterday even with his terrible endzone pick. And in both games we had very questionable playcalling from Nagy in crunch time. The defense is supposed to be the strength of this team and when things get tough they have absolutely failed.

Was really pumped up when the team was 3-1 now I look at the upcoming games and wonder where the hell they are headed again . If Mack isn't 100 percent we see what the D is not much at all in my opinion , tired of hearing they were a good D before Mack came on board , without him expect more of the same from yesterday with the sack numbers ... Floyd shouldn't be on the field he offers nothing , looks like he hasn't gained a pound since he was drafted ..wow talk about poor tackling wtf was that bs display apparently the defense forgot how to during the break .

Nagy , Nagy , Nagy what to do what to do ... the play calling in OT was a complete JOKE , you could tell he was okay with settling for a 50 plus yard FG ...if he says he had confidence in the kicker to make that I'm going to puke.

NE and the Brady bunch come into town and for now are licking their chops , who covers Gronk ? how covers Edleman ? Gore torched them what about Michel ? who covers White out of the backfield ? can they stop the big play as Brady will go deep for sure ?

It's a long season and the Bears are not the only team playing inconsistent ball , but they really let Brock fn Osweiler throw for 380 fn yards yesterday and Brady is coming to town ... expect them to be 3-3 unless Mack can get his nicks healed up and he plays to the caliber of the previous games before Miami.

I had someone ask me yesterday why I didn't drive over to see the game and after I did I called and told him that's why , they can't win in Miami started in 85 when I was there , Superbowl in Miami etc ...etc ..etc.

Dolphins had 541 total net yards.
    274 yards after the catch.
    161 rushing yards.

0 sacks....4 QB hits...of which I'm sure that high five Floyd gave to Osweiler probably counts as 1.

  8. dlinebass5 M.V.P. Bears

Remember - Nagy gave this team the bye week completely off (correct me if I'm wrong - going off what the team's media said).

Remember, also, us all bemoaning every screen and line-of-scrimmage pass that Gase ran, when he was here. Let's all think about how we get sick every time we see Nagy call it, now (1st and 10? Let's lose a few yards, make it fair!). Well, we made that playcalling look absolutely fucking genius, with how terrible the angles and tackles were.

The NFL is definitely an "Any Given Sunday" league, but I think a lot of fans were seeing the first four games as some kind of ramp up, completed by a successful Tampa game. Reality is, that Tampa game was our "Any Given Sunday". Realistically, this weekend was the norm. Gave up wins against Green Bay and Miami in embarrassing fashion. Barely held on to wins in the two other games. This is the team. And if Mack isn't 100%, well, we're last year's team.

    ^^^ This.

The biggest positive through 5 games is that Trubisky does look like an NFL QB. He's far from polished and far from elite but if he stays healthy we may have a solid NFL starting QB.

  10. dlinebass5 M.V.P. Bears

I stayed off the hype train, too, but I'm not even on this train, yet. Trubisky is failing to hit wide open receivers when he has time and room to throw, without needing to execute some 10-second fake / misdirection. That's not an NFL QB. Until we get a game from him where he checks all the boxes on the minimum of what's expected from a competent starting QB, I won't give him that, either.

Edit: I don't expect or even want people to share in that pessimism. But when you see the ball heading towards a wide open receiver, and are nervous that the ball won't even be catchable, well... it makes for tough watching.

The Tampa game. He missed a throw or two but no one is ever perfect. His reads, most of his throws, his footwork, knowing when to run, all was awesome in that game.

He certainly inspires more hope than Shitwad or any other Bears QB has in recent memory, including Rex. There's a lot of reasons to be down on the team but to me there's more positives than negatives from Trubisky, especially after the last 2 games.

  12. dlinebass5 M.V.P. Bears

Yeah, you're not wrong. I guess I just saw a complete lack of defense on Tampa's part, so it's hard for me to credit Trubisky for that... Maybe I should amend my statement - I'd like to see it again, before believing it was anything other than a good day. I said it at the start of the season (not sure if I said it here - talked at length with a buddy about it) - Nagy has to allow Trubisky to get a hold of the offense, in order to succeed. He can't keep throwing gadget stuff at him. Let the kid drop back and be a basic NFL QB. Let him develop that, first. When we see Trubisky succeed, it's because he's had time to really get something down, and it's clear that some of these plays are just too much for him.

  13. EvertonBears M.V.P. Bears

BY FAR, the biggest problem with this team right now is they have a coaching staff, led vy Nagy, who are making them think they're better than they are. That takes away a hunger.

You can just tell from all the kumbaya shit Nagy comes out with to the media that he is blowing sunshine up his players asses 24/7 rather than keeping it real.

I'm all for positivity and I'm all for giving praise when someone plays well, but you've GOT to also be prepared to tell it straight when someone doesn't do their job. And that includes lighting them up if you have to. Which at some point u almost certainly do.

They made way harder work of beating Seattle than they should've done. What should've happened after that was a big ass well done in the locker room after the game for fighting out a win.... then film rammed down their throats all week showing how they couldve made it so much easier on themselves.

That obvs didn't happen cos they came out against Arizona(particularly on D sound familiar?) And acted early like all they had to do was take the field. They got away with it, but those players should've got fried the following midweek, I bet instead Nagy continued giving out free handies.

I hate to say it, but this team might be getting softer. There's a ton of potential, but they need to be harnessed, for their own good. Nagy has got to show he has another side, if he can't.... things may keep getting worse.

You guys need to mellow. The Dolphins own you guys. It’s just like you guys own us in Chicago. We were 13-3 last year but couldn’t beat the Bears to save their life.

  15. Go Bearsssss Franchise Player Bears

I understand that the defense played terribly - but I'm absolutely shocked about two things so far in post game discussion - both on this board and in the media at large.

    1. Mitchel Trubisky. Are we watching the same game? I've seen/heard a number of people giving him props for yesterday. He wasn't terrible but he certainly wasn't great. I know hes still a young QB but we have seen enough young QBs succeed in the past ~5 years that i cant just always use that excuse for a guy in his second year. Mitch made some absolutely abhorrent decisions yesterday - and combined that with making some truly terrible throws as well. Cant even call some of them passes they were so ugly. I would say overall he is average, and I agree with whoever said it looks like we may have a solid NFL QB. But I need this guy to be better than Alex Smith long term. You can do a lot with an Alex Smith type QB but I need better.

    2. Jordan Howard. I place most of the blame for this loss squarely on Nagy, but Jordan HOward deserves to get blasted WAY more than he has been. This dude has made some rumblings about wanting the ball more. Then, in OT he blasts back to back 15-20 yard runs and has that defense on its heels. And what does he do? He takes himself off the field for a breather. Fuck you Jordan Hoard. I know its hot and I know you're tired but you literally could win the game for us if you stay out there for 3 more plays.

I personally DONT blame Nagy for running the ball at the end of OT like he did. We all want him to stop being cute and run some NFL Plays right? He just had his running game rip off 30 yards in two plays, I was ALL FOR continuing to stuff it down their throats there.... But not with Cohen or Benny Cunningham. Jordan Howard needed to be on the field there. I'm sorry I cant make any excuses for him. Lets not forget his crucial fumble too. I'm not gonna blast him too bad for that because over his career he has kept the ball safe, shit happens. But still, there was that too.

Like I said earlier, I blame mostly Mat Nagy for this loss. But I dont think people are blasting Jordan Howard enough for this one, and I dont see why Trubisky deserves any praise

3 touchdowns....9 in his last two games.

And he played really well when his team needed him.

The INT was bad and there were some other bad throws....but to give him zero praise would be wrong.

Based on his current numbers Trubisky is on pace to throw for 4000 yards, 35 touchdowns, and 13 INTs.

I'm pretty sure everyone here would be pretty okay with those numbers if that's where he finished. Not saying he will finish there....just saying...there's really not a lot to complain about there.

Other than a stupid INT (which, let me remind everyone came right after he had just thrown a TD that got Anderson'd) and after throwing 4 TD's in a row n 4 consecutive series. Trubisky had a helluv a game.

If you would have told me Trubisky would throw for 320 yars, with 3TD's, 1 Int, on 71% completions and a 122 QB rating, I would have said there is no way Bears lose that game.

This is the play wher they called Burton for PI.

    Note a few things:

    1) Ball isn't even in the fucking air.
    2) The conact is not in the endzone
    3) Kiko Alonso initiates the contact - not Borton (look where Burtons hands are.)

THIS IS NOT A FUCKING PENALTY!!!!

This is whre Kiko pushed Burton off. There is no longer contact of any sort at this point. Note, that TRUBS STILL HAS THE FUCKING BALL!!!!

This is when the all is actually about to be released.

On no plant in the worl is this PI. And the mother fucker didn't call it illegal contact because IT WASN'T (5 yards of LOS). So, instead, he makes up a Bullshit PI call.

This was a bullshit call that completely swung the momentum of the game.
