Ken Rosenthal just tweeted it's for Jose Reyes and minor leaguers.

 

The question is is Reyes going now or in another trade? Do the Jays have a buyer in place? Hearing Mets rumours.

August is huge for the Jays. They need to take care of business vs the Yankees to stay in contention. It's been a horrible July while the Yanks turned a so-so June into a scorching July.

Tulo contract:
11:$5.5M, 12:$8.25M, 13:$10M, 14:$16M, 15-19:$20M annually, 20:$14M, 21:$15M club option ($4M buyout)

Reyes contract:
12:$10M, 13:$10M, 14:$16M, 15:$22M, 16:$22M, 17:$22M, 18:$22M club option ($4M buyout)

 

Latroy Hawkins going to Toronto with Tulo. When the 42 year old Hawkins joins the Jays, they will be his 11th MB team.

 

Toronto is the capital of unloading bad contracts and Alex Anthopoulos is king.

Hawkins is a good rental player. Contract year and a decent reliever. Should be an upgrade.

Interesting thought. The Rockies just shipped Tulo and Hawkins off for Reyes and what we can only assume is some pretty good prospect(s). They could still sell Reyes before the deadline to an offensively starved team.

Nobody likes the Yankees. I don't hate em as much as I used too considering their not buying every good player thats up for sale. I think they finally realized you can't buy a championship.......The MLBN said trading for a player in the stretch run more than not doesn't lead to a championship. And They had the stats to back it up......

 

here's my thing...you gave up a ton to get pence. keep him then. the next season they basically traded him away for nothing. that's what bothers phillies fans. they gave up a ton to get him and got nothing for him. he didn't win a WS in Philly. They lost in the NLDS when he was here. He won 2 rings in SF.

Baseball guys called this move one of the worst if not the worst trade in all of phillies history due to the prospects involved we sent houston. at 1 time, all prospects in the deal were in the major leagues! real nice Amaro.

 

Another disappointing season for the Indians. At least Lindor looks to be solid. The future could be bright. Hopefully we can get another bat. Tired of saying "next year", such is life being a Cleveland fan.

teams want to offer less than stellar prospects and have the phils eat all the money. jerry crasnick is basically telling the 8 teams who want hamels - not happening. the phils will eat a ton of the money but want far better prospects than the slop they have been offered.
