i had nothing against friends, other than it wasn't a show i had any interest in watching. seinfeld, on the other hand - really really really do not like him. i don't mean "he doesn't do anything for me" - i mean i actively dislike the guy.
lulz--i always got a spare plane for you to put him on....hahahaha i watched both shows. friends was good at times. seinfeld was very creative and funny at times. however it was very annoying at times too. the co-creator of the show - larry david's own show was super annoying. i don't wanna start a war on here but both came off as whiney Jewish guys a lot. Again funny at times, but got old.
Piazza is probably the worst defensive catcher to ever last more than a year, he was truly horrendous, I have no clue why they didn't move him. He allowed 382 SB's in '96-'98, that's 46 more than Yadi has allowed in 12 years. You don't have to be better than Bench to get in, if that was the case there would only be like 12 dudes in Cooperstown. My point on Yadi having a better average than Bench is that we shouldn't be acting like Yadi is a liability on offense. He isn't a power hitter, but if Yadi wins a few more gold gloves can you really vote against a guy who was the best defensive player at his position for an entire decade? He's already won 7 straight. If you really want to see how big of an impact Yadi has, look at how Cincy fans received him at the all-star game. He's the guy who kills them, he's the leader, he's the face, he's the one that fans around the division are sick of, and that is the ultimate compliment to an athlete.
I think you have to see Molina play a lot and you might change your mind Fish. He's also top-notch at throwing out base stealers. You shouldn't have to just hit .300 to get into he Hall. Theres many other factors that go into it, especially for a catcher. I never thought Gary Carter was very good and was shocked when he was voted in......
you can see my old apt in that pix. i had the best view for 10 years. could see the upper bowl of the stadium every day and when bands played there, i had a free concert in my living room as i could hear the band play. yes, i was that close. my apt was the first street from the stadium.
I just read on mlbtr.com that if Hamels is moved in the next 10 days then the Dodgers are the clear favorite as everyone else is hesitant to commit to that much money and give up prospects.
http://mweb.cbssports.com/mlb/feature/25245808 Here's a really good article on the Cardinals, specifically Carlos Martinez, moving on after the death of Oscar Taveras. I'll never forget on Opening Day when they played the tribute, Carlos was visibly shaken and in tears, Lance Lynn reached his arm around him and the camera just sat on the 2 of them for seemingly forever. That moment, more than any other I've seen, show the true family that teams become.
igloo--if you read any sports article about hamels' value it will say what ive been saying all along. compared to david price and i think the 1 other free agent pitcher, hamels' deal currently is a bargain and he's done the deal at 35. max scherzer's deal isn't done till he's 37. 2 more years of paying him. what will david price get ? a ton more than hamels. it's all about the money and hamels' controlled years and money left for a left handed pitcher is a steal. the phils have already come down on asking price. i don't know what else is going on besides no one wants to deal with amaro and rather deal with andy macphail now.
Every article except the one Mut read, right? I'm sure there are others considering Hamels is still in Philly. The Phils have to come down because Hamels is still in Philly. How do the Phils expect to get rid of Howard and Utley with he years their having? They are trying to rebuild and I think they held onto them too long.......
I agree with this article, it makes most sense for him to not be moved at this point. http://nypost.com/2015/07/20/johnny-cueto-trade-is-obvious-cole-hamels-gets-trickier/
they did but no one wants them bc they stink. forget moving them. hamels and papelbon is the key. my point is age and money. for what a team pays hamels, it's FAR LESS than what a team pays david price or max scherzer. and he's done at 35. as stated max is on the books till 37. that's 2 more years of paying him at a higher cost than hamels. i think i read last night what lester got is more years and more money than hamels as well. again, hamels current deal is far less than the others. to me that makes me want hamels as it's cheaper and less years than the others.
The pitcher on the market I see as most desirable for the Cardinals is Scott Kazmir. It'd be foolish to add someone who will affect next year's roster at this point and he will likely be had at a better value than Cueto or Price, should he be moved.
