I want one ... for those who, in the know, can evaluate ...is it possible ? Did Cam just restructure ?
possible answer and great numbers from scm Cap Space post... "According to Field Yates of ESPN.com, the Steelers converted $8.085 million of Heyward’s scheduled base salary of $9 million into a signing bonus to create $5.39 million in salary cap space for the 2018 season. They already had $4 million in cap space. Is a trade in the works?"
Is he someone you'd consider a good pick up this late in the process with OLB need... or is this another case of highlight hypnosis.
The question is who do you release to sign him? I think he's a solid player but not a world beater. I like the two OLBs on the practice squad better because they know the defense and wouldn't require a few weeks to get comfortable with the defense.
It's a good point ... who do you release for this guy? I was in hopes that Adams would be called right up but when that didn't happen,it did seem sort of logical they'd be looking for a replacement for Ola and we've just seen a game where we didn't look all that comfortable. 2 maybe 3 games in to the season we will have a better idea a who we are. I am not displeased at all, thinking we really should have won that game, but none the less, I am disappointed in the tie/loss.
What did you think if that Watt guy? The 4 sacks were great but what really impressed me was the physicality in the run game. His hand usage and upper body strength looked really good. This kid can play.
11 tackles, 4 sacks and the blocked game winning FG in OT. mmm ... Yeah, I'd say he contributed ... he's awesome and young and talented and smart and fewer mistakes... potential perennial all pro ... flips his hips on route refusal like Jack Ham ...awful smooth for such big men. I can't wait to see how this defense plays as a unit by years end. This game alone huge kudos to Tuitt, Heywood, Watt, Dupree, Hilton, Bostic, Davis, Haden, Sutton Edmunds all had hats off performances and all together have not had much time to put towards continuity or constancy of positions. Switzer is a god send... first time in I can remember when we had someone back there not named Brown and I still have crazy good confidence in what he's shown thus far.
I’m anxious to see how good this defense is this Sunday against what looks like a much better offense than Cleveland.
