Watson stunk, for lack of a better word, but the game experience has to be helpful for whats to come down the road.

What was impressive to me was the turnaround by the Cleveland defense. They did well. Denzel Ward had a 4-yard fumble return for a touchdown. And linebacker Tony Fields returned an interception 16 yards for a score. Thats good enough to give some hope that maybe, on that side of the ball, they are figuring things out. I know it was the hapless Texans, but they did what they had to do.

PS - I miss the Browns fans around here, hope some make it back and add to the football conversations... they are sorely missed , in my opinion.

That’s about how I expected Brisset to play. Watson sucked it up. I counted at least 3 screen passes where it looked like he was spiking the ball to stop the clock. If he’s that rusty, he’s been sitting on his ass and not doing much since he took the bench in Texas.

    @Willie

Don’t forget the 76 yard punt return by DPJ, the first for the Browns since 2016 or 2017.

I just read that Carolina is going to release Baker Mayfield this week. The guy has really gone down hill if this is true. This may take some of the sting out of the Watson trade.

Why are you showing me the size of the personal towel he took to his massage treatments?

With linebacker Sione Takitaki out for the season with a torn ACL, the Browns have brought in another linebacker.

Cleveland announced on Wednesday that the team has signed Reggie Ragland off of the Raiders practice squad.

Ragland has not appeared in a game in 2022. But he played all 17 games for the Giants last year with nine starts. He recorded 67 total tackles with a pair of tackles for loss and a pair of passes defensed.

Ragland was on the field for 41 percent of New York’s defensive snaps and 45 percent of special teams snaps in 2021.

The veteran linebacker has appeared in 75 career games with 47 starts.

As a corresponding move, Cleveland announced Takitaki has been placed on injured reserve.

The Browns will head to Cincinnati to play the Bengals this weekend.

I'm not. That's the terrible towel Ben used to wipe down his pecker after he raped the Coed in Georgia.

Lym you can't talk Browns football without talking Watson, and at least for me you can't talk Watson without talking about his predatory sexual behavior. Frankly the longer he plays "rusty", the more this story stays alive.
I figure the Browns are banking on his playing up to / close to his prior play, and then the football part's positive impact begins to overshadow the darkness within.

It's a fair bet that will happen if he plays well, but if he doesn't ...............

But on a football note: you can't put aside the Watson factor (from a football perspective) and the rust he showed, but equally important is the Defense's performance. We've had pretty good luck against Burrow, and that is the good news, the bad news is he's a very good QB, and this streak can't last forever.

Which gives first? Burrow or Browns D?

Will the kittens learn from the clear history of our Browns rush defense being porous, and Mixon us, or will Burrow want to prove he's the man, and go bombs away? I'd like to think the aggressiveness we've been showing recently, keeps going. I believe we have the secondary to stay with the Cinci pass game, but our clear weakness at interior D line, and LB is glaring, and if I'm Cinci, I don;t stop running til 5 yds into the end zone.

Big game for us, not as critical for Bengals, but a divisional rival, who owns you, is motivation enough, and they gotta want that monkey off their back.

If we don't get a Watson who's at least halfway up the progression from last week to 2 years ago, we are in trouble. I have Chubb in my fantasy league, and wouldn't object to a heavy dose of the Chubbster, and dare Cinci to load the box. Then it really is on Watson.

I'm hoping we play incredible D, Watson is decent enough so Cinci can't load the box, and the streak continues

The Bengals are peaking right now. I don’t think the browns can keep up with them if Watson doesn’t play up to the standard they got him for.

Big game for them as well they are in the hunt for the #1 seed so they can't afford to drop any games. They are 1 back from KC but own the head to head and with Von Miller out in Buffalo that could open the door for Cincy.

    Okay.

Signs less than 48 hours from the game, literally no practice, 75% comp. and 14 points in a comeback win (on a 98 yard drive) for TFQB. Meanwhile, Arm Kelly out here posting a 28.5 QBR against the worst team (and it's not close) in the NFL.

To be fair @SAS, Baker had a few great games in a Browns uniform but he had too many of the 28.5 QBR games as well. Teams just don’t cut QBs for the hell of it. He provided enough reason at his last gig for his recent FA list stint.
