It's official - Blalock and Douglas are both OUT this weekend

Jay Adams and Reid Ferrin have both posted news stories about the offensive line on the team's official web site. The articles peg Gabe Carimi at right tackle and Peter Konz taking over at center, leaving the starting LG and the swing tackle as the only remaining mysteries.

Adams said that Harland Gunn is the most likely to get the start at left guard, while Ferrin said it's still up for grabs between Gunn, James Stone, and Ryan Schraeder.

Each of the three has advantages and disadvantages. Gunn is a natural guard and has been in the system the longest, but the others beat him out for the final roster spots at the end of preseason. Stone is a natural interior lineman and beat out Gunn for the roster, but he's a rookie - and an undrafted one at that - who would be playing his very first game. Schraeder has the most NFL playing experience of the three, but he's a natural tackle who has only cross-trained in practice at guard.

If Schraeder gets the nod at left guard, newly signed Cameron Bradfield would be the active backup tackle. If Gunn or Stone plays guard, Schraeder would likely be the swing tackle while the other of Gunn or Stone would be the active interior backup.

There's no mystery with Harry Douglas being out. Devin Hester repeats as the main slot receiver, with Eric Weems as the #4 and Courtney Roby active as the #5.
