We love us some Malcom Butler since "The Pick". As fans though do we overrate him? He's a tough competitor no doubt. However he is 5" 10 ish and does get beat on man to man plays. Why did Bill bring in Gilmore? Thoughts?
There are some people who overrate him. Quite a few underrate him, too, though. Reality is he's one of the better CB's in a league going through a real dearth of talent at that position. He's not Revis in his prime, he's not Talib, he's not an elite physical specimen and never will be and is going to give up some ugly looking plays every once in awhile, but he's been a very solid player for them the last two years.
Gilmore was brought in because he is in elite physical specimen and gives them more scheme flexibility than Logan Ryan did.
