TJ Watt and Gilbert are both out Sunday. Hubbard and Chickillo will start in their places, with hopefully some James Harrison sightings. Tuitt might play though. Hopefully the offense plays up to form and they can get a lead. This game worries me. They should win, but they have the Ravens the following week which could set up a trap game. This should be a blowout, but it’s a rare occurrence for the Steelers.
It is what it is. The Bears really suck but the Steelers are capable of playing down to any opponent. And with the Ravens looming it's really easy to lose focus on the Bears. But this season is different from past seasons and I believe we kick the Bears ass, and turn around and do the same to the Ravens.
Expect an early struggle, our beloved Super Steelers pull away in the 3rd quarter, Bears score a cheap late TD for a one to two score Steelers victory somewhere in the area of 7-14 points. Bell has his first hundred game and rushing TD of the season. This should be Bell's breakout game and if it isn't something's wrong. Please advise.
Gilbert being out is a bigger deal than a lot of people realize. He's genuinely one of the best tackles in the NFL and possibly the single best right tackle. If he has to miss a game, I'd rather it be this one than the game against the Ravens. Maybe slightly worse protection will force Ben to improvise and play to his own ability.
Here's an article on Cam Sutton's progress to date. I find this highly exciting as he was playing at a strong level before his ham string and will only strengthen our secondary upon his return. He will have, if injury free, a 2nd half of the season under his belt and will be able to contribute to any playoff run we may aspire to .... http://triblive.com/sports/steelers/12794157-74/steelers-notebook-cb-cameron-sutton-right-on-track between Sutton and Hilton, I think we went from problematic CB secondary to potential defensive strength, coupled with Burns, Gay, Sensabaugh and Haden. A great mix of youth and veteran presence that may just be a light at the end of our 2017 run for the SB instead of just darkness at the end of the tunnel.
It's about time we built a team to combat the Bostonian Bullies of the AFC. It only took us ten or so years after Denver, Baltimore, and the NY Jets all tried it with success.
Tech: Man you are on my vibe MoS....was thinking same thing. I think there's a bunch of us on this Tech ! I really like the timing of his return in regards to playing time still available of his for the balance of the 2017 season. We could very easily start a platoon of CB's by years end that will be the envy of the NFL, between athleticism, experience and youth. Demo: It's about time we built a team to combat the Bostonian Bullies of the AFC. +10
It sure comes at the right time, right after eight weeks. I hope they can be 6-2 at the halfway and lick the wounds a bit. They've been pretty healthy so far. Let's hope that continues, but Tuitt and Gilbert are very important in the trenches.
6-2 would be great! Lots of home games down the stretch and I'm convinced that a playoff bye is key. It's been way too long
Not trying to be doubting Thomas here, but the Steelers have never played well in Detroit. Even as big favorites, if my memory serves me correctly, they seem to lay eggs there. I wouldn't be surprised to see 5-3 after this week.
Thanks Demo... didn't realize they were .500 at Detroit the last 4 games there. It seemed they always played bad there. Must have lost a big bet when they played there and jaded me lol...
I do remember them losing in Detroit on Thanksgiving, but that was in 1998 or something when they were going through a bad period. We certainly can lose on Sunday, but I don't think we will. We have a couple of injuries to wrestle with but the Lions have injuries themselves that counteract ours. They have two tackles who didn't practice this week and Ziggy Ansah remains questionable after being limited in practice. 27-19 is my official prediction.
