Sutton Smith what a quality young man we have here... https://triblive.com/sports/steelers-6th-rounder-sutton-smith-my-path-is-to-fight/ MAC lesser competition? ... perhaps, but we've already experienced MAC and almost to a man have not been disappointed in their NFL production. You know the names and of all of them none has been more chip-on-the-shoulder fiery than James Harrison ... until maybe now. I think he makes the team on ST efforts alone ! ... with the very real possibility of more. If desire is anything at all, he's candidate for "poster child of the year" and I'm, so far, impressed. I'm with Keith ... I don't care if He's from Egypt either can't wait to see where he goes from here.
I appreciate you pointing that out. Missed the link, in my haste. Now I get it - it doesn't matter what conference or country you come from, if you can play football. Here's to hoping the kid tears it up. Go NIU!
This kid's electric !! Ben was from a little MAC school. This kid is going to do more than just contribute on special teams. The team just confirmed they expect to play him at OLB.
Dupree provides a serviceable if not overwhelming presence on the field. He will be on the team and still get his PT.
I would rather move on from him. He will probably have his best season of his career this season so he can get an unearned big payday.
What Dupree has been asked to do isn’t the same as TJ, or really any other OLB the Steelers have had. He’s asked to cover and play zone on just over 50% of plays. Hi doesn’t jump off the tv at you but he shouldn’t based on what he’s asked to do. Imagine asking Porter, Harrison, or Lloyd to drop into coverage on over the plays they were on the field.
and I don't know if there is any correlation here, but Dupree was brought on to play a certain style with a speedy sure tackling Ryan Shazier behind him... perhaps Bush intensifies an already late blooming Dupree. If it does help, and that takes care of the grey matter problem now ... He still neeeds to improve the moves, get to the QB/ pressures at least and learn to dance behind the LOS, cause there's more than one rookie on stage that already can ... 2020 ... just sayin
interesting article/pod cast on analytical via game statistical and computer analytics ... took me 24 minutes to get all that ... and TaDa... Turns out Bud ain't so bad ... and some of the better portions of our team play, to us, really are pretty pedestrian compared to the rest of the NFL. Don't know how well this new technology actually represents the player's abilities but am sure the information is inclusive of all NFL positional play for an individual's comparison to their league wide counterparts. https://triblive.com/sports/surprising-stats-on-steelers-roethlsiberger-dupree-pass-rush-o-line/
