Yes i know we have a thread dedicated to the hollywood scandel but that is mire of a who has been named list. The question i have here is do you find it creepy when watching a movie that has an actor who has been named.

For exampke i watched superman returns the other say and when spacey was on screen it just felt dirty. Anyone else have that feeling when watching an actor or a movie directed by those who have been named?

I could imagine that could cause a lot of people problems. It would be pretty hard to avoid seeing how it is like a freaking avalanche of people getting accused of this stuff.

I have a hard time watching Robert Mitchum due to him being an openly racist and arrogant shithead. So, yes, (known) character or quality of a person does matter even when watching a performance. I saw Jeffrey Jones acting on stage before he was pinched for kiddie porn. I saw Ravenous after his arrest and knowing that about him, made him more vile. Sorry to judge and I really don't like it, but I don't know. That knowing is just... there and it matters. I haven't watched any movies with any of the accused lately. Not intentionally, but I would probably take their current positions into consideration prior to watching their movies. Like a "soft boycott". I've been to the movie theater twice in the past 7 years (Machete and Get Out), so I don't give my money to Hollywood via that method. So, fuck you Weinstein! I'll probably will never watch The Usual Suspects again. Or Midnight Cowboy. Polanski? Nope. And that's too bad, because he made some really good films.

I don't think I've ever had that problem.

I can watch the Naked Gun and still laugh when OJ is on screen.

To me it's no different than listening to a song sung by a performer that is a shitty person in real life. Or watching a football game knowing there might be a player on the field that's been involved in drugs or domestic violence.

i don't think of what they did behind closed doors before or after the scandals happen.
