Jerrell Freeman is in the concussion protocol, in addition to White's season ending vaginabone being hurt
You have to be kidding me. This team is doomed. The storyline of injuries keeping Fox around is starting. Last year of Vangios contract could mean they keep the wrong coach.
Hockey season can't start soon enough. One of the worst teams in football doesn't need to lose arguably their best defensive player.
I love watching this guy play, this is a huge loss for this defense. Unbelievable the injuries this team has to key players and continues to have for the past few years. This guy was easily Pace's best free agent signing since arriving here and not he's on IR. Freaking sucks.
Adam Hoge @AdamHoge Jerrell Freeman has a torn pec and will require surgery. John Fox says he doesn’t know if he’ll be able to return from IR this season. 9:21 AM - 13 Sep 2017 =================== In so many ways this man was the key to the D. Well Kwiatkoski is hoped to be the future at the spot so he’ll now get some good experience. Kid can hit, just needs to read better. That only comes with on the field experience.
Apparently, Freeman thinks he tore his pec on the first play of the game. Past that, he was also concussed and stayed in - some think contributing to that blown coverage (it's rare for Freeman to be that lost and ineffective on a play). Let's just stay healthy. I mean, I know this team isn't good, but fuck it makes it harder to get anywhere when guys are constantly going down. I'd rather be healthy and bad, at the very least because at least we know what we'll have, and the team can work towards some consistency. And if they still suck, Fox and the lot have no excuse. Plus, I hate to see guys like Freeman, who deserve a good season, go down with something serious.
Freeman is my guy because no one could possibly be harder on him than himself as he leads by example. We might never know about that play if he blew it he would be the first to admit it I assure you. I just think Demps got anxious and wanted to jump that Jones route and because of it lost his focus on the TE. I'm with you dline no excuses for Fox.
Yeah, I think that's an accurate reflection of Freeman, and also a reason why I'm such a fan, myself. Personally, I think that one's on Demps. I think it was single-high, and Demps saw the big threat on one side of the field, and went that way. Of course, Freeman and another player were oddly close, as the pass was thrown, and neither were really in a position to do much. I'd have to see it again to tell whether or not it was a matter of the offense rendering the defensive play ineffective/Demps screwing up, or there being a blown coverage/miscommunication on the play outside of Demps. I've never been a fan of Kwiatkowski as a defender, though he's doing well on special teams. I'll be interested to see if he steps things up, being back in the starting role, or if he's still limited. I was really excited about Trevathan being in a Bears uniform before his injury. All I wanted to do was see our new star ILB's wreck the field... Instead, we've gotten one or the other. Hopefully Trevathan gets back to Broncos form. Think about it: Freeman, Trevathan, and McPhee all signed to make the 3-4 LB's a terror for this team. All three have had season-ending, major injuries, or suspensions, etc. Son of a bitch. I'll be working for the game this weekend, as I will be for most. Hopefully the offense comes out with more to offer than just Cohen and a few runs by Howard. I'd really like to see some of the 45 TE's they kept on the roster, or the actually useful receivers, like Kendall Wright. Glennon had better show out, with all this "my former team" talk. Worry about seeing an open man, before you worry about the other jerseys. Hopefully I miss a win, this weekend, and can catch up with a smile. All the best, everyone.
