Linebacker prospect Frank Ginda was with the team during preseason and played fairly well. He skipped his senior year at San Jose State and declared himself eligible for the 2018 draft. In retrospect, that MIGHT have been a mistake. He went undrafted, signed with the Cardinals as a UDFA, was released after OTAs, signed with Miami for training camp and made their practice squad, then went to the AAF, then the Saints - but was released at the final preseason roster cutdown and did NOT make anyone's practice squad, then the XFL (until COVID shut down that incarnation) and then two years in the USFL post-COVID. USFL contracts have clauses where players would be released if they could get signed by NFL teams. And with that, he has bounce back and forth between Michigan and Atlanta. When the Falcons released him at the end of preseason, he returned to Michigan in the USFL, and now Michigan has released him to clear his way to Atlanta's practice squad. So... welcome back! It has been a long road, but he has shown promise as a prospect. He's certainly worth the practice squad berth.
