With our crappie offensive coaching we are watching a Quarterback capable of playing good enough to win the division not get any better than his rookie season. We trade Dotson for a swap of late picks and now are the laughing stock of the league just like our claypool trade made the Bears look bad. Dotson is playing a lot better than 30 other starting guards in the league. Our offensive coaches suck and shouldn’t be coaching in the NFL.
Read up in that he is more comfortable on the right side and Meyers scheme didn’t fit his game. But Canada and Meyer are not top level coaches that’s for certain. Larry O lines up against him on Sunday so we shall see.
I thought Meyer did well with the guys last year. But I won't pretend to understand it at a coaching level.
Beach I think we saw fools gold the teams Pittsburgh played in the last 7 games of 2022 weren’t world beaters. Mostly I think Cole is having a bad 2023 and players adjusting to Seamalu instead of Dotson will take time.
Again, not an expert but when Pickett has pushed the ball downfield successfully the running game instantly improved. They ran for 60 yards on 15 carries in the 2nd half vs. the Ravens and added another 30-35 yards on dump off passes to the RBs. It just hasn't happened that often.
