Hall of Famer and former Chicago Cubs legend Ernie Banks has died at the age of 83. The two-time MVP slugged 512 career home runs and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1977.
I saw him play. He WAS GOOD. Deepest sympathies to his family and the Cubs organization. He played around the time Clemente did I think? I know for a fact that when I was growing up, he was the best player on the team.......
he played a little when clemente played. a true gentlemen of the game. sad for all fans, not just the wrigley faithful. his phrase of "lets play two," is sadly not happening anymore bc they barely a double header anymore. damn unions.
Since the passing of Ernie banks a few people have made public comment about Him. Here a just a few...
He played A LOT when Clemente played, right? I thought their rookie cards came out around the same year (I have a 1960 Topps Ernie and I thought Clemente's rookie card was '55)
