    Hall of Famer and former Chicago Cubs legend Ernie Banks has died at the age of 83. The two-time MVP slugged 512 career home runs and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1977.

    I saw him play. He WAS GOOD. Deepest sympathies to his family and the Cubs organization. He played around the time Clemente did I think? I know for a fact that when I was growing up, he was the best player on the team.......

    he played a little when clemente played. a true gentlemen of the game. sad for all fans, not just the wrigley faithful.

    his phrase of "lets play two," is sadly not happening anymore bc they barely a double header anymore. damn unions.

    He played A LOT when Clemente played, right? I thought their rookie cards came out around the same year (I have a 1960 Topps Ernie and I thought Clemente's rookie card was '55)

    banks started in 53, clemente in 55. my bad.
