Eagles @ Patriots Official Game Thread - Super Bowl LII

In Week 20, the Eagles defeated the Vikings and the Patriots defeated the Jaguars. Now they play each other in Super Bowl LII.

    For the Eagles to win:
The Eagles need to play a complete game. (A 60 minute and OT if necessary effort covering all three phases of the game: offense, defense, and special teams.)
The Eagles need to have a balanced offensive attack.
Nick Foles needs to play smart.
The Eagles need to score TDs early and often. Don't let the Patriots build an early lead.
The Eagles need to protect the ball. They need to win the turnover battle.
The Eagles defense needs to pressure Tom Brady up the middle of the defense.
The Eagles defense needs to stop the run.
The Eagles need to keep in mind what happened to the Falcons last year and "keep the pedal to the metal".

    Go Eagles!

Eagles 22 and Patriots 12 at halftime.

Not much rushing by either side. Blount (Eagles) and White (Patriots) each have a rushing TD.

    Foles is 13/22 for 215 yards 1TD and 1INT. Brady is 12/23 for 276 yards 0TD and 0INT.

One half in the books. One half to be played.

Go Eagles. The third time is the charm for Lombardi #1!

Harrison looking great today stopping run and applying pressure .... not good enough for our defensive masterminds though

Fitting end for NFL not to give Patriots the calls they were given earlier in year when refs / NFL were screwing teams like ours on same kind of game deciding catch they now call a receiver who became a runner

    NFL remains a joke

But this is a more fitting end to this seasons soap opera for us men so I will take it....NFL may have wanted an underdog to win since ratings and attendance are so down this year.

Down go the Patriots! The first game I've seen the Patriots get screwed on replay. Not quite as bad their opponents during the regular season, those were overturned on replay, whereas these were ruled inconclusive so call stands. The first TD was more questionable than the second. Don't think the ball ever touched the ground on Ertz TD even if he wasn't ruled a runner at that point.

WOW. Glad that the Eagles won. We have to do something about this next season. Win #7 and pull away from these bums.

So a team with an Offense and a Defense going against the Patriots and the Patriots can lose. Steelers need to get their defense back to the level that many of us are accustomed.

1st TD review (Clements) should have been reversed, NE got screwed but I don’t care because they’ve had so many other calls go their way for years.

2nd TD review (Ertz) was the right call, he became a runner and was hit after he became a runner. Once he broke the plain, play is over TD, right call.

Our beloved Super Steelers remain the only team with 6 SBs, barely. (4 won with Nolls teams, 2 won with Cowhers teams) now we have to wait for captain Tubby to retire to see #7

Eagles have more of a rushing game than the Patriots.
    Foles 28/43 for 373 yards 3TD and 1INT
    Brady 28/48 for 505 yards 3TD 0INT

Nick Foles is going to have quite the off season after his performance once Carson Wentz went down. As the saying goes "Champions Overcome"!

I couldn't trust the Eagles until the final tick came off the clock. So glad we got another season to go for 7 before someone else gets in position. 49ers are going to be a team to watch next season. Garoppolo hasn't tasted defeat as a starter.

And the Patriots tie the Broncos for most super bowl losses by a team - 5
