Detroit Lions vs Chicago Bears Game Thread

I know it's early to post this but I have to teach a huge yoga class at 10 so I have no idea when I might be home afterwards. Please take a knee and join me in sacrificing at the altar of the God of Money.

I have mixed feelings about today's game. I feel like this is another good testing ground for Fields as he comes into his own on his home field. That should raise his confidence somewhat.

I also hope they win.

Today's the day I go into the stands in Soldier Field and play Where's Mongo.

No Velus Jones again. No Al Quadin Mohammed. Teven Jenkins has a hip issue and Jaylon a game time decision.

 

N’Keal Harry was a waste of a draft pick.

No Jenkins. Who’s run mauling today? Most importantly is Whitehair going to help Mustipher or is Schoefield?

 

So was Jones.

With the jury still out on Claypool, Poles is 0 for when it comes to the WR position so far.

Good. I'm hoping we see changes from today moving forward as a result.

 

Jenkins being out is a big miss. But JJ playing was pretty much essential with Vildor also being out.

Fields has a chance for a big game in the air today. The Lions pass D is last in the league in y/pa. You have to figure they are gonna key on trying to limit Fields' legs. The Dolphins tried using a spy while playing man and Fields killed them anyway. I would expect the Lions to also use a spy but play a lot of zone so people can keep their eyes on the QB. Should be a lot of holes and soft spots to find if the pass protection can give Fields just a bit of time. That's a pretty big if tho.

Fun fact. The lions have the 31st rushing defense. Even with Jenkins out I feel good about that.

To add to that, their starting FSMelonfonwu and Brockers their 3 tech is out.

And while Malcolm Rodriguez was a fun watch on ‘hard knocks,’ he is not very fast. So is Anzelone.

Shame the bears defense can’t stop anybody.

Don’t really like the idea of Braxton Jones trying to block Aiden Hutchinson.

 

I appreciate regular home blue on white unis a lot more after the past couple of weeks.
