This topic is worthy of its own thread as it seems to be taking on a life of its own. Market crashing, almost erasing all gains made in the last 3 yrs under Trump. Down over 700 again today and sitting around 25K. The scare from this can really be huge, as people are now afraid of touching anything that comes from China. In Russia they've resorted to killing dogs, cats and rats.
And the worst part is that Pres. Trump is politicizing this phuquing thing instead of actually putting forth an effective and concerted effort to stay ahead of this before it possibly becomes something ala "The Andromeda Strain" (sorry for the over-exaggeration) rather than making any excuses in advance before his administration comes out looking like a bunch of jackasses should it reach epidemic/pandemic levels. And he further goes on to say: Translation: We have nothing ready outside of what is the norm in dealing with regular sick people. This isn't a political thing. This is peoples' health and lives we're talking about.
Once this thing starts kicking in a bit more here in the U.S., I'm wondering how well the underwhelming health insurance system will perform and how many people this will absolutely screw over in medical bills?
I think there is already another 38% that won't buy it because it's a rather poor beer to start with.
Yesterday in California a person was infected that didn't travel and they have no idea how it happened. That is worrisome.
I can picture that scene from The Naked Gun with the fireworks factory going up in flames...…… And now that I think about it, Pence kind of resembles Frank Drebin……..hmmmmmmm……..
Mikey the sleaze was doing a pretty good job in the 90s as a lap dog for tobacco lobyists. I wouldn't be surprised if he was handing out, "smoking doesn't kill" t-shirts. He's a big God guy though, the orange one. First priority is that "the Donald" comes through on this unscathed, make no mistake.

Swine Flu.........Bird Flu...........SARS............COVID-19............etc etc. DO NOT Panic and constantly wash your hands.
And Pence has begun the "race to the cure" While I have respect for anyone's faith, this is not a time to attempt to "pray it away." They cut funding to the CDC, which later downsized by 80%. They figure spending for a wall is much more necessary.
Not sure or not but thought I heard the House of Rep's was trying to or did pass a bill to take money from "The Wall" to pay for what's needed to combat the virus. So basically Trumps swiping money from the Pentagon and defense budget to pay for his wall which won't get any appropriations from the House or Senate which in turn would be swiped from "The Wall" to battle the virus. Unfortunately, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell won't ever let this bill see the light of day as he's already sitting on 300-400 House Democrat passed bills.
