These are the two videos I will assume are pretty much indicative of the capabilities of each. I see far more shiftiness in James than in Benny and that my have some bearing on Snell's learning curve. but... Both have an insane drive for each and every blade of grass they're on. It's certainly not all together uncommon a trait to have in the RB position. With these two though, it stands out like a sore thumb. Potentially as punishing a duo on a defense (for an entire game that), I think will not be so common a thing in today's NFL. I'm hoping for 4th Q's finished strong this year and that running attack is what the Dr. ordered. I'm thinking these two are going to be great for each other. the team and us. No, I'm not forgetting Jaylen ... IMO he may have as much or more time on offense because he's want to torch the underneath (3-6 yards) off LOS with a one cut to freedom and pass recep. His YAC could go off the charts ... in Steeler standard for a slot. He's a better athlete than Switz or Eli, stronger, heavier and 4 years of big time NCAA style competition already under his belt with a real taste for the speed of the NFL in his first year.... a year in which he not only acquitted himself exceptionally well, but became a familiar, friendly face to his HOF QB...
I'm happy with the talent level of the Steeler's backfield. They just need to have more attempts than last year. I think that would help themprotect leads late in games.
+10 I'm hoping for 4th Q fresher legs on the RB's than on the defenders after a full day of pound and ground. I know there is going to be a lot of passing going on... I have a $50.00 with my eldest son that Ben's numbers improve this year over last ... his best ever. IMO he has more targets with more diversity in player capability at receiver and RFB core. I'm not a homer ... yes I am...
You mean the one cut and go? Or the ability to find a hole quickly? Or the ability to keep moving his feet and falling forwards when he goes down? The kid was arguably the best back in college last year with NFL-ready size. How he fell to the 4th is beyond me, but I was ecstatic the Steelers scooped him up
I am simply amazed that he fell to us. He is the, IMO perfect round peg to hole fit that the Steelers could ask for. These two are throwback, hard nosed punch you in the mouth RB's ... I think and hope in time they capitalize on (feed on) each other's fire. Then I hope it catches to the rest of the team ...

Here is a good summation, in some really slow news takes from the NFL, from Ramon Foster on this very topic ... https://steelersdepot.com/2019/06/f...-running-backs-with-different-styles-in-2019/ also, had to add this (same article) ... made me smile from ear to ear ... this is Steeler football ... "As for Snell’s running style, It’s hard-nosed football,” said Snell of his running style not long after he was drafted. “I am grinding for every yard. I am a physical player. My style of running is Steelers football. Pittsburgh football. That is what I am going to bring.” The Steelers new running backs coach Eddie Faulkner pretty much agrees with Snell’s self assessment of his running style. “He plays physical, plays hard, and quite honestly represents the Steelers brand, as you watch him play as a football player,” Faulkner said after Snell was drafted.
