will Brett Hull step foot in side the [del]crease[/del] building?

sorry Dan, too good to pass up.

I remember that incident with the late jim kelley(the reporter), he wrote a bad article about hasek. Hasek ran up to him and ripped his shirt, wgr had a field day, they were saying that the sabres were issued a bad check. All kidding aside, he was a great goalie, his unorthodox style was fun to watch.

Matty, that building had to be torn down and replaced. Oh, shit, that's not what happened, the Aud had already been replaced. We did change the name however to the First Niagara Center and Hull is not going to be invited.

  5. clint is a strange story. i absolutely don't understand how surviving something like that would make a person suicidal. i have to wonder if the skate incident was just a coincidence, and not the cause of his suicidal thoughts.

He's suffered a lifetime of clinical depression and anxiety, violent alcoholic father. He would drive to gyms and pick fights with the biggest guy there for no reason, psycho.

  7. ahhh, ty. guess i should have read the bio, huh?

but that makes way more sense than "i nearly died, so now i wanna kill myself."

Argue with it? Hell, I endorse it! I ran away to college right after high school. I like going back about once a year, because family is family. Buffalo is one of the friendliest cities in the country; but I would not want to live there!

Colorado, this is where every day is like being on vacation!

  12. i'm partial to wyoming and montana myself, but no dispute.

Oh give me land, lots of land, under starry skies above. Don't fence me in...

CO: statistically the sunniest state in the USA.

I can certainly vouch for Colorado, I lived there for 3 years. Loved the people, loved the land.
Kind of personal but Ive been trying to get the boss to pick up and move there for a few years now??would love to raise the little lady there. The boss aint having it.

But the reason I came by the Buffalo thread was to tell Dan that the Bruins will be doing the Sabres a solid tonight by trouncing Garth's squids.

Do it! Do it, Matty! Move to where the sun does shine; I'd love to go to DU and Avs games with you. The boss would love it here too - guaranteed. My [del]wife[/del] boss, who is from Ireland, took about one year to start calling this home instead of Ireland. We go there once per year and she can hardly wait to get home.

Thanks for the solid. We need the NYGarths to come down to earth; the sooner the better. (Although I have believed for a while that they are a playoff team this season.) Everybody in the NHL can beat the Blues, too.

I wish it were that easy Dan. you have a better shot at your Sabres and Bills both winning their titles this year than I do at getting her to make that move. i need to get the whole family out there this summer and see if it can sell itself.

the northeast is just so grinding. hurry up and wait, screw over the next guy, don't bother w/ people you don't know and don't worry about the other guy are not the way i like to live. beyond the beauty of Colorado itself I found the people to be so much more enjoyable to be around.

trouncing may have been a bit strong, maybe welcome would've been more appropriate.

Copied from the hockey team from Boston board, since this really belongs here:

Especially because of your second thought, I agree that this trade(with the hockey team from Boston) is unlikely. Obviously, Tim Murray has a history with the Sens, and I know that Stewart is the type of player they want. I do not know if their history will make it easier to work a deal, or if there's mutual-leeriness. You don't want one GM gloating about how he humped the other in a trade over Christmas dinner.

As for Buffalo's needs; well ... they could use some scoring. Seriously, the prospect pipeline is deep and wide, but other than Reinhart in a year or two, and the possibility that someone could surprise us to the upside, there's a lot of third-line type potential. There are too many C's, but obviously they can be kicked to the wings. I have to think that any prospect like Tuch would get their attention quickly. The Sabres should have four pretty decent lines in about three to four years. They have too many young d-men, but they do not have any goalies, (including the NHL roster) that are sure-things.

The hard part about this rebuild will be deciding which promising prospects to move. Figuring out the system for team-needs could also be challenging since I do not know if Nolan is considered the long term answer behind the bench. Any team will take first round picks, especially in 2015.

Buffalo can take bad contracts if there's not too much left on the term. Fortunately things look pretty good in Rochester so far, but their problem is too many good young prospects since they can never fit most of them in Buffalo.
