By popular demand I am starting a Buffalo Sabres thread. There is a lot to discuss here, so we need to start with some ground rules: - We do not need to be reminded that Buffalo sucks. We know that better than you do. - There are some teams that we hold in particular opprobrium, therefore, there are officially sanctioned rules about how to reference them. They are "the hockey team from Boston", and "the hockey team from Philadelphia". No exceptions! And, no cheating! - Buffalo made changes in what had been the NHL's longest tenured GM/HC ranks within the past year. There is much to be learned about how they managed to screw things up so badly. - The Sabres will be very popular in early March, as every player is a possible trade candidate. Certainly teams will inquire about Miller, Moulson, and Ott. But, we have more! - Buffalo has a very strong player development pipeline, and currently holds nine top-sixty picks over the next two drafts. Of course, the 2015 draft will be one of the best in years. - Buffalo has a wealthy and passionate hockey fan as its owner. Terry Pegula has made some missteps, but he is creating a first class operation in Buffalo. For example, the Harbor Center being developed in Buffalo will be one of the finest hockey facilities in the world. Look for the WJC to come to Buffalo, and there's a possibility that the NHL may move their draft combine down the QEW from Toronto. - I proudly own this year's alternate Sabres jersey, and I could care less if anyone else likes it or not. These - and many more - are matters we can look forward to discussing. First, let's get thinks started with a song: Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh! Let's go Buffalo!
BTW, I now live in Denver - I am smarter than I sound. Also, I go to a lot of hockey games around the country. If you say bad things I will know who you are and where you live, so ... well, so.

this Sabres thread is a brilliant idea... and who's the mastermind behind it? (ahem) glad to see it has wheels under it so soon.
