Predictions, comments, breakdowns.....It's all welcome. This is a huge game for the Cleveland Browns. Let's get the Bud Light coolers unlocked in week one, and get that out of the way.... Pittsburgh is business as usual, and only a fool would under estimate that team. With or without Bell, Steelers are dangerous. I think the key for Cleveland is to get pressure on Ben with the front 7, and contain Antonio. I don't think he can be shut down, but something less than double digit receptions and triple digit yardage totals would be great.... If the Browns want to send the message to the world that they aren't cup-cakes anymore, they have the ideal opponent lined up. Everyone knows the Pittsburgh Steelers are a good football team. Nobody knows what the Browns are right now, though everyone agrees they have improved. The vibe feels good in Cleveland(for a change)....Can they keep it that way with a HUGE win on Sunday?
ESPN ranked the Browns as the 28th offense, 28th defense, and 30th special teams, BUT had them with 6 wins.
The turning point game for the Cleveland Browns. The crowd will irritate Roethlisberger and get to the Steelers. I'm predicting the Browns pull off the upset in somewhat convincing fashion. Charged up by the emotion and chaos of the Dawgpound, Browns stay in control, and play sound fundamental football, with a nasty edge on the defense. Browns in a stunner, 31-16....Cleveland's defense harasses Ben all afternoon. The rest of the division takes note. This is a different Cleveland team. Things won't be the same when dealing with the Browns.
Ben comes out in midseason form, throws for 400 yards 5 TDs, the ground game destroys the Browns in the second half for a big 45-13 victory to start the season for the Steelers.
It will be way too hot for football and the final score will fall somewhere between TD and Gid's predictions. Can't wait!
I would put a paycheck up against this if you're willing...reminds me, I had an avatar bet with someone.....
This is NOT your big brother's Browns team. Its not even your Daddy's Browns. This year's team feels more like your Grandfather's Browns' team of the 60's or the 80's. Since the return in 1999, the Steelers have pretty much owned us to the tune of a 33-6-0 record. Not only have they stolen our lunch money, on more than one occasion, they have emptied all the groceries out of the fridge and pantry. THAT SHIT STOPS THIS COMING SUNDAY !!!
While I do think it is possible for the Browns to go 8-8 or better, it ain’t happening at the Steelers expense.
After the game, celebrating win #1 out of one opportunity...something they haven't done in YEARS...13 to be exact... and have only won ONE season opener since their return...That all changes Sunday!!
Browns need to be able to run and stop the run this Sunday. If they can I think they have a good chance to win. If not, short of a handful of turnovers I don't think the Brown's have a chance.
