Tried to watch the game at the pub. The anti-Mayfield sentiment is so ridiculous, and yet SO real... Browns fans are the best.....Browns fans are the worst.... I love the team and I'm always the optimist. I just can't watch the game surrounded by people that "snark" Mayfield after every play, especially in a game he's not even f'n playing in..
I’m sure it was full on pro Case Keenum in the first quarter… but then he shows why he is a backup in the second. He looks about as effective as Baker, I’ll give him that.. then you have to weigh in, he doesn’t have a torn labrum and isn’t wearing a limiting harness. Browns seem to want to give Baker this 5th year to prove himself and so do I. That’s all I have to say about that. Hoping for a year end win, then we can start doing our prospect evaluations.
Maybe Urban Meyer will be around to finger some co-eds and take the heat off all the Mayfield talk. Could definitely liven up your Sunday.
Lol, you spew rhetoric about unintelligent posts and posters, yet your Urban Meyer obsession is borderline psychotic. Are you hiding in his bushes as you post about him? It’s entertaining, I’ll give you that.
Now, now - I don't think the Browns board is in ANY position to talk negatively about spewing or obsession with Urban Meyer. Those are some of your guys' favorite pastimes. I was just offering up a solution for TopDawg. An Ohio Bar on a Sunday? Chances are high Urban is around.
Mayfield is hyper-polarizing but it's not for his on-field play or what he does (or doesn't do) in the community now. I can guess with 100% certainty how someone feels about Mayfield based on how they felt about him pre-draft. It's the most unusual thing because I cannot for the life of me remember another case of a player being judged on the same feelings from 5 years ago. It took the Browns eight seasons to win the same number of games as Mayfield has with the team in the last four. Those four years have been marred by inconsistency at every level, rampant turnover, non-complementary football, and a pretty forgettable listing of skill players outside of Nick Chubb. And still, Baker is an even 30-30 winning percentage through all that. Mayfield is sixth in franchise history in wins. I'm not sure what else he could do besides going back in time and un-planting that flag at the Horsehoe to make a plurality of Browns fans respect that.
I couldn't agree more. It's amazing how that failed flag plant attempt still resonates through our fan base. When Baker did that in the Horseshoe, I had absolutely no problem with it, and I'm as big a Buckeye fan as there is. I'll never understand why half the Ohio State fan base just can't get over that. lol! We played two games against Baker Mayfield when he was at Oklahoma. The first one was in Norman, and it was all Ohio State. The Buckeyes rolled all night and then after the game Ohio State did what they do. They all gathered together in unison and sang the song, and celebrated, and they don't care what field or who's logo they are standing on while its happening. Baker watched in silence from the Sooner bench area....One year later, Mayfield gets his revenge in Columbus. What is the big deal? So he waved a flag and planted it in celebration after his unexpected victory, a game in which he dominated btw... It is what it is I guess. There is a certain segment of our fan base that just sits and waits for Baker to make a mistake so they can gripe about how much they don't like him. All the commercials just don't help.... Maybe it's just the way Browns fans are in regards to QB's. Even back in the day when we had hometown hero Bernie Kosar under center, there were a ton of fans, probably 30 to 40%, that couldn't stand him.
