It will be close and the Bears will probably win. The Bears offense will look like paint drying, but even with Patricia fired, etc, the Lions are just....not good. Even with all that, the Bears are favored by only 3 points...at home. I could easily see the Bears losing this and if so the fanbase will revolt. Outside of the Panthers game, the Lions have put up 20 points every game, and the Panthers game they didn't have D'Andre Smith. Honestly, the McCaskeys are pretty lucky that Covid has the stadium empty anyway, because I am positive at this point they'd likely be seeing late era Trestman attendance. It's shocking how quickly this has all gone downhill. Not really much more to say, but if you guys have thoughts I'm curious to hear them.
I expect the worst. Meaning it will be one of those games that Mitch plays well and we win, topped off with an excessive Club Dub celebration. Screwing over our draft positioning and giving Nagy/Pace a boost in the eyes of the McCaskeys.
Excessive s*** talking by our players incoming. Not that the Lions don't deserve it - that team can get f***ed - but our team doesn't deserve to be doing it. Eddie Jackson with another 0 turnover game, but jawing on every other play? Place your bets.
I think to get a boost in the eyes of the McCaskeys, they'd have to show offensive prowess in the form of 4 offensive TDs. I see this as a toss-up. Houston won big the game after firing Bill O'Brien. So did Atlanta the week after firing Quinn. I see the Lions putting together an effort for A--guys to fight for jobs next year and B--how they lost in week 1. I can also see Matt Stafford having a great day when Sanu/Marvin Jones/Golliday lines up intentionally in the slot just to have 24 cover them. Also, I can see Ejax giving a half-assed effort while trying to cover Hockenson. Most importantly, Darrell Bevell will probably tell whoever runs the defense to not play man coverage against Trubisky--something Matt Patricia couldn't figure out.
Only thing I will say is Whitehair looked better at G last week than he ever has at C. Keep him there. Make Daniels the center next season. And hang on to Mustipher.
Fucking hell if this isn't on the money. Nothing like celebrating when you've pissed away the season. It's like Houston celebrating his sack of the backup QB when NE was curb stomping the shit out of us. Living in the Seattle area I get to hear all about Seahawks stuff, and let me tell you Bevell was *reviled* here at the end of his term for not utilizing Wilson properly, so I'm happy to see him as HC of the Lions now. Looking it up though, apparently Cory Undlin has called the plays on D all year despite Patricia being the D minded coach. I'm not sure we'll see much difference, but he's also a first year DC so maybe he learned something from the last game. Insightful as always, and I agree. dline nails it that these jokers are going to be jawing despite lack luster performances.
He should be fined for his smack talk and his stupidity for doing it and for when he does it. He acts like a 7 year old (apologies to 7 year old children).
