I wouldn’t stop there, because Trevis Gipson and Dom Robinson are pretty damn useless and I don’t need to see what the can (more like can’t) do with another year and reps. I don’t care if Justin Houston is old. Sign him too. Like Ngokue, he played for Der Flus in Indy with plenty of success. They also just signed Mercedes Lewis. With notes and tidbits from pundits in camp saying Braxton is getting bulled around by Demarcus Walker, a blocking TE helping on the most important position on the OL, albeit a blocking TE closer to Medicare age than his prime years—is a need. Good signing.
Oh that's interesting, Hoge and Jahns said Jones was looking determined (pre-pads on practices, if they have another after the pads went on I haven't heard it yet). Next saturday we finally get a glipse of some of these kids in preseason at least.
Sucks that it took so long, but this was the move that I think we were all waiting for. Felt like a no-brainer. They've got cap space, immediate need, etc, and he can come in and wreck it again to set himself up for a better deal next year. Glad it finally happened. And yes, the defensive line is still largely populated by bums, and hearing that Braxton Jones is getting pushed around by them doesn't surprise me. The team got better, but not everything is fixed. Fingers crossed the improvements pay off this year. If the OL isn't meaningfully better this year, there needs to be fire on everyone's asses.
The move Pat & I called months ago finally happens. Would've liked it to be months ago too so he had a full offseason on the team, but i wonder if Ngakoue was holding out as long as he could for a better team or offer. I mean he was on record in March saying he wanted to play for a contender so he signs for the worst team in the league last season? K So, that makes 1 actual pass rusher on the team. Poles, care to sign another so the 1 guy you do have isn't schemed straight out the game every week? This is a disaster if true. The biggest glaring thing Jones needed to work on this offseason was improving his play strength, if we see him getting pushed around in camp by DEs of this calibre that is a total fail.
