The Chicago Bears are still trying to clear up some money this off season. According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Chicago is releasing outside linebacker Sam Acho. A fourth-round pick out of Texas in 2011 by the Arizona Cardinals, Acho turned himself into a reliable outside linebacker who can be both a starter and a contributor on special teams. In his rookie season with the Cardinals, he burst onto the scene, recording 40 tackles, two pass deflections, four forced fumbles and a career-high seven sacks in 16 games with 10 starts. He backed that up the following year by recording 48 tackles, three pass deflections, two interceptions, two forced fumbles and four sacks. Acho only appeared in three games in 2013 because of a broken leg and capped off the year with five tackles and one sack. In his final year with the Cardinals in 2014, he recorded 31 tackles, one sack, three pass deflections and one interception. He signed a one-year deal with the Bears in 2015 and recorded 39 tackles, one pass deflection and one forced fumble in 15 games with seven starts. The following year he appeared in all 16 games for the Bears and recorded 27 tackles and one sack. After signing his third-straight one-year deal during the 2017 offseason, he went on to record 45 tackles, three sacks, one pass deflection and one forced fumble in 16 games with 12 starts. Chicago signed the veteran outside linebacker to a two-year deal worth $5.5 million during the 2018 offseason. Acho was set to have a big role on defense during the 2018 season before the Bears made a blockbuster trade for pass-rusher Khalil Mack. Acho recorded just one tackle in the first four games of the year before he was placed on injured reserve. He went on to miss the remainder of the season. Moving on from Acho will help save the Bears around $2 million in cap space. Chicago has been working to free up cash this offseason. The first way the team was able to free up some cash was by releasing tight end Dion Sims. The Bears then followed that up by restructuring the contract of offensive lineman Kyle Long. The team does not have many glaring needs in free agency but they do have a pair of defensive contributors set to become free agents. Both nickelback Bryce Callahan and strong safety Adrian Amos were big parts of Chicago's defense last year and bringing them back appears to be a priority for the organization. Acho was a reliable backup who played very well on special teams over the years for the organization. He was also someone who could start in a pinch and was well-respected in the locker room. The Bears currently have Mack, Leonard Floyd and Kylie Fitts under contract at the outside linebacker position.
In a nutshell to me this is exactly like trying to load a new program on your phone but you get an error message insufficient space. So you start by clearing the cache on all the programs hoping you get enough but hell no, you get it again so then you start by uninstalling updates, and then again the error, Well Fuck! still need more room. So then it comes down to the hard decisions like actually deleting programs and you have to think do I really want to delete my Midget Porn app or the Health and Fitness Tracker?? Well Duh! bye bye Health and Fitness Tracker, and take the Heart Rate Monitor, and that Bendy app with you bitch! Done mission complete
Hahaha No I wouldn't call the purveyor of the best beef jerky north of the equator a bitch. It's used as an expression, and not directed at you. I was just trying to explain what was being done in a way you could follow, and that you understand some tough decisions have to be made and that it was akin to unloading useless programs on your phone. Just because I used the bendy app and bitch in the same sentence it wasn't directed at you, LOL but instead the unloader app. Settle down now and relax or there will be plenty of time for me to direct that word towards you.
Plus just because I think it's cool here is a picture of my road ... And a picture of some falls on my friend's property that I took when I was on a hike.
Why is it that people only remember my foibles and not all of my heroic moments? LOL Jesus, I am my own worst enemy, telling you my stupidest moments. Here it is March 7th and the temperatures are still way below normal and it's still snowing every single bloody day. I'm pretty ready for spring, robins, daffodils and mucking around in the gardens.
Hey don't judge, and Yes there may or may not be a monthly charge. In case you haven't noticed I'm not at all normal. As a GM one must have priorities and so must one as a smart phone user.
Dead weight. Goodbye. We know what we have with Acho. Bring in a new guy or give someone else (Fitts?) a look.
