Let's say for the argument that this year, 10 wins likely gets you a playoff birth. Not saying you win the division, but 10 wins should get you in the door for at least a wild card spot.

Looking at the rest of the season, here's what I think is probable based on how this team has played so far and looking at the competition:

    @ Bills - Win - we are then 5-3
    V Lions - Win - We are then 6-3
    V Vkings - Win - We are then 7-3
    @ Lions - Loss - We are then 7-4
    @ Giants - Win - we are then 8-4
    V Rams - Loss - We are then 8-5
    V Packers - Loss - We are then 8-6
    @ 49ers - Win - We are then 9-6
@ Vikings.... this will be the most important game of the season...

I realize this is just me hypothesizing. And any game can go another way. This is just what I have. And if it does go like this, not happy our last 4 games are against vikings, Packers and Rams. But, it is what it is.

2-4 in the division means we miss the playoffs, I guarantee. Need to go 4-2 or 5-1.

I know you’ve been banging this drum, but really the divisional games mean the most.

Which is why Mongos prediction there is possible, say we do win 2x vs the Vikings and get 10 wins, there are still scenarios where we lose the tie breakers than at 10 wins. Remind anyone of a season not too long ago with a 10wij team missing the playoffs?

Divisional wins are a must. We already blew one.

But by that date I would say that we'll be looking at a systematic upgrade right across the team. I'm hoping any way that every game that Trub and Co. get under their belts the improvements will be commensurate.

Sucks. I really think he could have a truly special career if he could stay healthy...

He was playing really well and healthy this year. Was likely on his way to another pro-bowl nod.

Not much you can do when a big dumb fuck on your own team, for no apparent reason at all, trucks your ankle from behind.

What do you guys think about signing Bruce Irvin for the rest of the season? He has 3 sacks on a really bad defense and was extremely effective when rushing opposite Mack last year. Especially given that edge rusher is still a need with Floyd's suckage.

  8. I'd be fine, as long as they don't shower him in cash. He's.... 31?

We need to go 6-2 the rest of the way to definitely make the playoffs. Rams and Saints, and possibly Panthers, will all finish with way better records. We need to win the division, probably won't be good enough for a wild card. Second half of the season will be a lot tougher than the first half.

The amazing thing is that we've held leads for the vast majority of the season, even the in the games we've lost. Defense is going to have to learn to close games out better.

But really it's all about Mitch. The last 3 games haven't been good. He needs to step up big time against our divisional rivals. The pressure has been off him the last 2 weeks. It's going to be on him now.

Wouldn't complain at adding another pass rusher, but not banging the drum for him either at that age.

But what i would be doing from now on is starting Lynch over Floyd. He's just more productive.

Looking at this really tells you how bad Kyle Fuller dropping the game winning interception week 1 was and how bad that piss poor effort the defense displayed against the Dolphins really hurts.

At the very least we have to win all of our next 3 games. The Rams, Packers, and Vikings finale will be extremely tough.
