With Ben getting 30 million a season I just can’t see them running the ball down peoples throats. If we were going to run a lot then Snell would have to get more caries, he is the banger of our bunch.

It’s not so much with how many times u run the ball its “when” do u run the ball. When it’s 2nd and 1 run the ball and get the 1st down.
Last several seasons no matter who the OC has been they’ve passed on a 1st and goal inside the 5 way too many times. Last season in particular I think it was the at Cincinnati game they had the ball at the Cin 1 and threw a screen that was almost picked off and went the other way. They scored a TD on the play but if that’s picked off they may lose that game. I don’t understand why u would put yourself in that situation. They’ve loaded the team with good young talent but until Tomlin and Ben get better in situational football our beloveds won’t make that much noise in the playoffs if they even get there. Maybe not having to satisfy the egos of AB and Bell anymore it will.

I believe with all of the distractions from the last year+ should provide motivation for everybody from the top to the very bottom of the organization.

"Is it any coincidence that all four teams in the AFC North could figure prominently in the mix of teams who make use of a stable of multiple running backs? Of course, we’ll have to see if Ben Roethlisberger is going to throw the ball 700 times or not."

This is going to be a really interesting season. The AFCN alone will be a weekly monitor fest on who won/lost, how each and every game will effect the standings ...all crammed in to the last 3/4 of the season ... from week 4 Bengals to week 17 Ravens.

It's very possible a very good 9-7 team wins our division (as we will be blood letting our divisional selves). It just can't get here soon enough ...

I agree here Gid but i also think he will be a more productive QB this season with fewer throws. Did you know 10 of his 16 int's were targets to Brown? I knew they were there but 60%?
All that "forcing them in" to 84 may have a rebound effect on new, different receivers watching 2018/19 film and using it to best effort out there this season. More opportunity because of more QB observed receivers should enhance Ben's location to feed the open guy... not the open ego.

aj, if they throw that quick hitting dart from Ben to (usually 84) all the way along the backside of a very busy line of scrimmage all the way to the OB line. The freaking play never catches anyone off guard, rarely gains good YAC and has the very mean spirited shot at a nearly unstoppable int. return ... that's the mind bending WTF play that's my line in the sand !

early grave kind of shit ... :BOO:

perhaps a little more fuel to the "forcing them in" fire :

Curiously enough, all four of Roethlisberger’s red zone interceptions last season came via passes that were intended for Brown.

i am in great hopes Ben will be freer to locate an open receiver. IMO, even as early as it is, I think we have the makings of a truly diversely talented receiving corp. Speed, size, agility, hands... and then you get to include the backs, including Rosie, who can all catch and run too ... With that Oline to stabilize offensively for either run or pass, the year Ben might have passing combined with what appears to be a very talented backfield is potentially truly awesome.
