i want the Vikings to keep Chad Greenway,so he can show the young players what it takes to learn how to play lb and be a pro football player it's time for David Yankey and Brian Fusco..Phil Loadholt i just thought he would be more of a dominant player and Charlie Johnson ugh,and whats going on with Jerick Mckinnon has he been signed yet i read he's a no go i guess it's about MONEY!!!!!!
Not a lot out there about McKinnon. Zimmer was asked this question: Q: What are you looking for in Matt Asiata and Jerick McKinnon and what are you looking for in each of them? A: Well, like you said we have a couple of different types of backs. Jerick (McKinnon) has a chance to do a lot of different things and Matt (Asiata) is kind of an all-purpose guy, he?s a good runner, a good protector, probably not as explosive as Jerick is or as Adrian (Peterson), but he can take some punishment, he can give some punishment. I?ve been really impressed with the way that he has worked in the weight room this offseason, so actually we are always looking for different types of backs, we?re not always looking for the same guy. You want to have a change of pace guy, you want to have a guy that can catch the ball out of the backfield and obviously we want to have Peterson. I hear anything at all about him, I'll post it. Looks to me like pretty good depth at the RB spot.
lol. Yes it is. I have one and I use it. Edit buttons, spell checkers, search engines, www and I can still screw things up!
i read about that in the StarTribune good they got them all signed...now with a little luck they can escape the injury bug,it makes me laugh at the talking heads how they give the Vikings no chance, the Vikings lost alot of games last season by a few points..the difference with a better Defense they just might win the close the games
On Friday the Vikings announced that the club has waived WR Lestar Jean and signed former Browns WR Josh Cooper. Cooper signs with the Vikings after spending his first two seasons with the Cleveland Browns. During his time with the Browns, Cooper appeared in 11 games and recorded 17 receptions and 166 receiving yards. He caught 8 passes for 106 yards in 6 games during the 2013 season. Cooper signed with the Browns as an undrafted free agent out of Oklahoma State on May 9, 2012.
Report by Mike Wobschall. Here are five things to watch this week as the Vikings hit the field for three days of practice before summer break. 1. The Quarterbacks Quarterback is the most important position in all of sports, and the Vikings have an eclectic mix as they prepare for the 2014 season. The questions we had earlier this offseason are the same we have now and are the same we?ll look to have answered at training camp: Can Cassel secure the starting job? Will Bridgewater push for playing time? How does Ponder respond to Norv Turner?s coaching and scheme? 2. Barr is Back! With Pac-12 schools on the quarters system and their graduation dates, players from those schools haven?t been able to participate in offseason programs until now. That means today is Anthony Barr?s first day back at Winter Park since rookie minicamp, so it will be fun to get another look at him as well as third-round defensive end Scott Crichton and fifth-round offensive lineman David Yankey. 3. No Secondary Concern There will be several important training camp battles going on in the secondary, and this week will serve as a preview. A couple to watch include the third cornerback behind Captain Munnerlyn and Xavier Rhodes and then the starting safety spot alongside Harrison Smith. By definition, then, there will also be battles at the fourth-sixth cornerback spots and the bottom of the safety depth chart. 4. Who is the Man in the Middle? The challenge is that right now there is no sure-fire starter at middle linebacker, or at least it doesn?t appear that way. The good news is the Vikings are several quality options and will be able to wage a hard-hitting competition for that role over the next couple months. Jasper Brinkley, Audie Cole and Michael Mauti are the three likely top choices at this point. 5. Rounding Up the RBs The situation at running back hasn?t really been a concern for the Vikings since Adrian Peterson was drafted in 2007. It?s still not a concern now, but it will be interesting to see how the position develops over the next couple months in terms of the plan at fullback, a replacement for Toby Gerhart as Peterson?s backup, and the way in which a scat back will be used in the offense.
it's time to play Mike Mauti if he can stay well and be on the field this guy can be a diamond in the rough, see what Audie Cole and Gerald Hodges have to offer...i hope Jerick McKinnon is the change of pace rb the Vikings need plus he can throw the halfback pass
AP on NFL.com. Might as well get all they can out of him in the offensive scheme. I know he would like it and I would love to see what he can do out there. He is impressive. Great work ethic to stay in football shape.
AP is very rare rb the Vikings are really lucky to have an outstanding rb like this!...with the new coaching staff maybe the best is yet to come
Here's a little something on Everson Griffen...
wow now that something else...i had no idea he was that fast it seems like the Vikings have a new mind set, about fvcking time cool video
Ya. The new style all around is going to be fun to see. Plenty of interesting things developing on both sides of the football. Some of the chatter in Vikings Land is, how do you replace a Jared Allen? Under Zimmer's defense in Cincinnati, the sack's were spread out, there wont be just 1 guy lined up to rush the slot and have free access to the QB. I think we will definitely see a more balanced defense, with pressure coming from different points of attack. Defense in Minny is going to be fast.
Developing story - Today the cover of the new Vikings Cheerleaders calender has been revealed. This beats the news of, well, there isnt any.
i don't know how many games the Vikings will win this season, just liking this air of confidence they seem to have tell me where was this Before!!!!!.......btw nice pic
i think the D-line will be just fine....it won't be just Jared Allen and D-line it will be the Minnesota Vikings D-line..nothing but respect toward Jared Allen but its time to move on
Thanks. There isnt much else happening right now as they prepare for camp. I like the feel of things too. I dont have that sinking feeling that Ive had under Frazier. As far as how many games they win? All I know is its a very tough schedule, but i think they will be more competitive. I think they will be in most if not all of their games...hoping for the best, as usual. Hey, if you know any football fans, Vikings or whomever, invite them to join us. We could use some more input and participation. Ive got a couple on my hit list.
i have tried...but i will try again cause there are alot of very smart Vikings fans it would be nice if other Vikings fans gave there opinon's here
